When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I haven't had to claim anything yet so when you buy insurance your not fully convinced until you have to claim. Also if your under a certain age you get better deals for a year , so if like me your over that certain age it's very expensive , please consider us also, the mobile non geriatric group of us who are out there tracking , motorcycling around the world and not dead on our knees”

“I had a great experience with True Traveller. I ended up in hospital when I was away and they were helpful on the phone line, and then extremely prompt with reimbursing me for the claim when I submitted it a month later. I actually got my money on the same day! They also have so many options when you're choosing your cover, and it's clear what you're paying for, which I appreciate.”

“I honestly can’t fault this company. I have taken out a policy with them for three separate trips over the last few years. Not only do they have a comprehensive and flexible way to take out a policy which covers everything you want or need, they are also incredibly efficient if you need to make a claim. Unfortunately, I have had to make a few over the years and they have all been settled so quickly. The most I think I had to wait was two days, but otherwise they typically do it on the same day and have never tried to get out of paying as other insurance providers are known to do. The customer service and support is also incredible. Just such nice people and really make you feel supported and cared for. I would highly recommend to anybody and have absolutely no complaints. Fantastic service! Thank you so much.”

“I have never had to claim (though used TT often), so I can only comment with 5* with regard to ease of applying, and clarity of process. TT have not had to be put to the test where it really counts, as I have never had to claim. Thanks!”

“The best insurance I've ever had! They helped me when I needed a rescue in the mountains, were in touch with me after the incident and checking on me in case I needed any further help. Also, making claims is quite easy and was solved the very next day. I'm amazed and going to use this inscurance from now on and recommending it to my friend already!”

Hi We cannot address any specifics of this review to protect the medical confidentiality of our customer. However, in general terms, when someone declares a pre-existing medical condition, whether online or on the phone, the following information is provided to them: "Note your travel insurance will not pay for any medication or treatment which may be required to be continued during your trip to control any medical condition you screen for, for example the costs of Inhalers if you suffer from Asthma, or the cost of your regular check-ups you may need to have to monitor Diabetes. However, when you screen your medical condition, this means your travel insurance may cover the cost of any emergency medical treatment which may be required due to a change or deterioration in your condition." So, if someone puts in a claim, for example, of buying inhalers to control their Asthma and tried to claim that cost back, then yes, that claim may be declined. The reason for any claim being declined is always fully explained to the customer. According to a recent report by the Association of British Insurers, 83% of Travel Insurance Claims are paid. At True Traveller, we have authority from the insurer to handle our own claims, and in August 2024, we paid 94.47% of all claims which came into us. True Traveller

“I was very impressed with the application process, but also, the clarity of the policy on paper. I needed to check on a key component which was helicopter rescue as thought I had put everything through correctly but needed to be spot on. Customer service advisor went through policy and confirmed that I had done everything right - also recommended to 3 others that were travelling with me and they have all booked insurance with you as well since my booking”
