When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“Truetraveller is the best travel insurance for somebody who travels as much as me. I may be out of my home country for many years at a time and this is the only insurer I know that renews or even starts new policies whilst abroad. Super quick and easy to obtain and when I had to make a claim a year ago they were quick and efficient to complete the claim I made!”

“Straightforward to set up and the option to add winter sports is great for backpacking adventures! Haven’t had to make a claim yet so I can’t judge that aspect but I’ve never had a bad experience with Allianz underwriting.”

“I rang the call centre just to get clarity on helicopter cover and the man was very helpful explaining how it works and also offering advice for the trip. After doing a lot of research This was the most reasonably priced insurance for my trip by quite a bit.”

“Since becoming digital nomads at the end of 2017, my husband and I have used True Traveller as our travel insurance. It is the best option for us because we can buy insurance if we are already travelling and also the fact that they have services like live chat mean that you can easily get in contact with them from anywhere in the world. It is also the cheapest option we have found that provided us with extensive coverage worldwide. In 2018 I was unfortunate enough to have to get some emergency dental treatment done that was quite costly. I wasn't even sure whether my claim would be approved and also I was worried that I had submitted it late (just within the allowed period). I live chatted with someone from True Traveller when I needed the treatment to find out what would be covered and they were really helpful,explaining what I could claim for and in one instance even suggesting where I could go for reasonably priced treatment. I submitted my claim via a very easy to use claim forn and then waited to see what would happen. I was surprised that within a week I was contacted by a person managing my claim and told that I would receive the maximum I was allowed for dental treatment. It was so fast, I was really impressed! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend True Traveller to other travellers and have already got some of my friends to sign up after I recommended them in a review on my blog!”

“I have been travelling for 4.5 years almost non stop, I have felt safe using Truetraveller insurances most of that time. It is quite affordable and gives the freedom to get it when already on the road unlike the insurances from my home country Finland. And it covers my dear hobby scuba diving as well.”

“You can get insurance while you are already traveling which is a big plus. I was also offered discount to extend for another year but my insurance already expired when I saw message :( I didn't make any claims so I can't comment that but otherwise their website is easy to follow, with all the information needed.”

“I haven’t had to make a claim but getting insurance with this company is really easy and I like that the policy wordings are clear and straightforward. It’s easy to see what’s covered and - unusually - they let you take it out if you’re already travelling or don’t have a return flight.”
