When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“We were recommended to use another insurance company, which we were quoted a premium. I just thought I’d check another just in case. I got a quote from True Traveler in minutes, it covered more and came in at 30% less than our previous quote. Amazing! Thank you True Traveller for all your help :)”

“You can get insurance while you are already traveling which is a big plus. I was also offered discount to extend for another year but my insurance already expired when I saw message :( I didn't make any claims so I can't comment that but otherwise their website is easy to follow, with all the information needed.”

“I haven’t had to make a claim but getting insurance with this company is really easy and I like that the policy wordings are clear and straightforward. It’s easy to see what’s covered and - unusually - they let you take it out if you’re already travelling or don’t have a return flight.”

“TrueTraveller's website is simple, clear and they are nice and upfront about the realities of insurance, what they cover and don't cover, and the requirements of Canada's IEC visa. I like that they have lots of options for tailoring your cover to suit you, and explain the relative merit of the extraa depending on your plans for your trip. Their FAQs are comprehensive. On the one point I did have an outstanding question, the enquiries team responded within a couple of hours. Reassured I decided to go with TrueTraveller over the other options I had looked at. Although I haven't started traveling yet and haven't claimedfor anything, the whole process has left me confident that should I need to call on them, TrueTraveller will be there to help.”

“The coverage seems to be alright when looking through the activities covered and the terms and conditions. It is great that the coverage can be customized depending on ones needs, that is really great. I used true traveller for a year while I stayed in Canada. However I did not need any medical assistance so I cannot say how well it all works out once one has to file a claim, but I believe that with Allianz in the background as a large insurance company all should be fine as its a solid insurer in the background.”

“I am going on the Everest base camp in April 2020. I had quotes from 3 different websites. True traveler were not only the cheapest but the website was very user friendly and it was easy to find what cover i required. I phoned the helpline to discuss before i purchased and they were very helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend True Traveler for any adventure or trekking type holiday insurance.”

“I found the website really easy to use and I love the fact they offer helicopter rescue for Nepal at such a competitive price. I have been looking for travel insurance which covers numerous trips at high altitudes and this company by far offered the best package for a reasonable price. I don’t know why I would use anyone else for adventure travel.”

“I've only bought insurance, not made a claim. Make sure you read a review from someone who's claimed, because that's when it matters! The buying processes seems easy enough, and the list of stuff that's covered looks fairly complete. I had to pick upgrades to cover my planned sports (climbing and skiing) and note that there's no search and rescue cover in the value bundle.”
