“I recently ordered 14 square metres of white, polished Carrara marble for my bathroom project from the Travertine Stone Store website. With a quick phone call I checked it was in stock and ready for delivery. The order arrived on my doorstep just over 24 hours later in perfect condition and at less than half the price of a certain high street tile store I could mention. Very good quality and price. “Every thing very good except for the fact that had to try and move the pallets with pump forks which could not be done on hardcore on-site and had to get a friend with a tele-handler, maybe easier for delivery with a hiab equipped lorry ?”

“Spent a long time looking for decent travertine tiles at a reasonable price, was a bit concerned about buying tiles online but got a couple of samples and spoke to Monika and she was very helpful and put my mind to rest. The tiles were sent to arrive on exactly the right day ( a huge bonus), and they are stunning. They are of a very decent quality and look fantastic - thank you guys!”

“Excellent communications always follow up the call back request, prices and range the best we found. A visit was possible to the office to view the actual tiles before making a final decision. Overall a very positive experience so far, this review is written before receiving the tiles so will update after receipt and fitting.”

“Was a bit skeptical about buying from a company I had never heard about before, I wanted a tile that wasn't readily available in most highstreet stores so was forced to traipse the Internet to find what I wanted & I'm glad I did! The service I have received has been A* from beginning to end! The tiles arrived in perfect condition, when they were meant to - with no delays or blips. A member of staff rang me the day after I placed my order to arrange suitable delivery that fitted around my schedule. Would highly reccommened travertine. Thank you :)”

“An excellent service. Tiles delivered well within time frame given. The tiles were packed firmly in cardboard boxes and, although individual tiles have not been examined, the tiles appear to be in good condition.”

“I paid overnight delivery coat to ensure I got my tiles on time - was a little pricey but they did arrive the next day! The quality in 3 tiles were poor - one was cracked and looked like it had been filled and the other two didn't match the rest of the tiles - so overall not great!”

Many thanks for the feedback. We have checked this order and the customer just purchased 9 tiles, that is why the delivery charge might seem high based on the quantity. In regards to quality issues, we have checked that customer purchased silver travertine which will be highly varied in look as per the website images. They are also in honed & filled finish. However we also realised that the customer has not notified us for any problems after their delivery.

“I found the price of the tiles to be very good, however the customer service could do with improvement. First of all when I ordered online, there was no option to enter my address or contact details (just the first part of my postcode so they could calculate the delivery cost). I paid and was sent a notification of payment via PayPal, but not from Travertine tiles themselves. I then realised that my address on PayPal was incorrect, as I had recently moved. I updated my PayPal details and contacted Travertine to let them know that they may have an incorrect delivery address for me. I was then wondering how Travertine were going to contact me to arrange delivery, as stated on their website, as they did not ask for any contact details. The only way I could think of them being able to contact me would be through PayPal, which again had an old telephone number- I've never heard of a company using PayPal details to ring a customer! So I put this in my email along with the correct delivery address. I was sent an email the following day confirming this which was fine. It was not until 4 days after I made the order that I was actually contacted to arrange a delivery date. After making arrangements between myself and my partner we arranged delivery for Thursday 7th May. After waiting all until 12:50pm I was called by Travertine to say 'unfortunately the van has broken down so we have to reschedule delivery'. I am very understanding that these things cannot be helped, but I wasn't even given an apology, just a 'this is the way it is, deal with it' attitude. I said could they come the next day and could they make the timing more precise as it means I will have to take more time off work, so they agreed to come the next day in the morning which was quite reasonable. They turned up as agreed and the delivery driver was very friendly and helpful and had called beforehand to tell me he would be there shortly. The tiles were delivered in perfect condition and the exact amount as ordered. I am not usually the type of person that complains, but I feel that the staff I spoke to on the telephone seriously need to go on some customer service courses as the person I spoke to was quite miserable, and as stated before, wasn't even apologetic to me about the van breaking down- of which I was extremely understanding. I also deal with the public and have had to cancel appointments etc and would never dream of not apologising- even if it wasn't my fault, because that is what you should do as I also understand that it is not the customer's fault either. Also for the inconvenience of having to take MORE time off work, and a delivery cost of £44, I feel I should have been offered some money back as a gesture of good will, but I am getting the impression that Travertine Tiles don't care much for their customers, and wouldn't be surprised if I don't get any feedback from this. They need to update their website to incorporate contact details for the customer, and to send automatic email confirmations with an order number, as it is a bit unnerving to spend £144 and not receive any confirmation from the company you have ordered from.”

We checked the comments by the customer, and Paypal is a very popular platform for online payments and nearly all of customers use them without any problem. It is easy to use with on screen instructions. We also advised the address change to the customer via email and shipped to the address that was requested by the customer, therefore we do not understand why the address issue has been brought in the comments. In regards to the delivery, the haulier's vehicle did break down which was beyond our or transport company's control. After checking with our haulier, they advised that the customer was contacted and were apologised, they also arranged the delivery for the following day AM service which seems a fair solution in these circumstances.

“Our order of granite tiles etc, arrived 3days after we ordered them, which I think was brilliant, the delivery man was a real credit to your firm, and to top it all off, the tiles are top quality, will be a returning to you when we need need more of your products, well done to the travertine store.”

“Very efficient, arrived on time and quickly. Good communication on day of delivery with the courier company. Would definitely use them again. A shame the carriage is so expensive though, especially when I only wanted 5 tiles, carriage was more expensive than the tiles!”
