“The quality of the timber and finish is excellent. The only area that should be improved is the way the fittings are designed. The eccentric spindles work well but could be larger in diameter, (20mm), plus the beam should be counter bored to accept the large washer. At present the washer keeps the beam off the wall, allows the beam to sit at a slight angle due to its weight and leaves a gap at the top edge because of the weight. Once the beam has been bored to accept the support spindles it is not possible to counter bore the beam without specialist machines. Hi Bev, we are sorry to hear you are disappointed with your order. I have checked through our emails and you have not been in touch with us to to elaborate why you are not happy with the item you have received. Would you like to send us over a photo so we can take a look and offer our advice? As Oak is a natural product each piece can differ with regards to knots/cracks, grain and colour, it all depends on what tree it has been cut from. Our website advertisements do reflect these natural variations. Please email us at info@traditionalbeams.com and we would be happy to take look over your order and exchange/offer a refund.

“The shelf we ordered is exactly as expected and looks perfect on our wall. With it being a floating shelf, we weren't sure how easy it would be to put up ourselves - we need not have worried, instructions and fittings we're spot on and it took no time at all. We love it and will be ordering again.”

“The beam is beautiful and we are super happy. Their customer service is also amazing. We placed our order and the beam arrived with a slight fault, once I’d contacted them they made a brand new one, apologised and arranged for the new one to be delivered and the faulty one to be taken away at the same time. All done super quickly and without issue so we can not fault them at all.”

“The beam arrived within the timescale given when ordering, really well packaged and exactly as described. After leaving it to acclimatise to the room as instructed it was really easy to put above the fireplace. It really finishes off the room and we couldn’t be happier.”
