“Having served 22 yrs in the British Army then the last 4 years working abroad in security I was wanting to find myself a trade and work for myself. I choose Tiling! From the moment I contacted UK Pro Tiling Tracey was as helpful as anyone could be. I attended the course on day 1 and quickly realised I had chosen the right place to come to learn the trade. Darren's experience, knowledge and expertise both in tiling and teaching were excellent. The knowledge and skills he taught were very well put across and made easy to understand. Not only in how to tile but also regarding how to run a business as a tiler. Particularly pleased with Tracey supplying the Teas and Donuts. I started the course having never touched a tile and now feel confident with the knowledge and new skills I have now gained to go out into the world and start my own tiling business. I cannot recommend this course enough. I can quite possibly say I owe a good future to Darren and Tracey at UK Pro Tiling.”

“I can't recommend this course enough.I'd be lying if i said it was easy as it's very fast paced and it's a lot to take in but we'll worth it.i looked at other courses nearer to me in West Sussex but they didn't offer as much.and the course tutor Darren was fantastic.so it doesn't matter where you are coming from it is well worth the travel.”

“What can I say that has not already been said? I have attended numerous courses from May 2016 at another venue and tiling was to be my last, at the past venue the tiling course was fully booked until March 2017 , ( only do the course 2 weeks in a month) so did some research and found UK Pro Tiling, ( and so glad I did) I spoke with Tracey just before Xmas 2016 and booked onto first course of 2017. I opted for the 9 day course to get a bit more practise at the course venue before entering the big wide world. , as other testimonials state, the Information comes thick and fast , but if you listen it all goes in somewhere and gets stored , Darren's knowledge is immense , and the after care is second to none, As soon as I returned home, I went and priced a 30m2 kitchen floor, and was awarded the job to start a week later, it was to fit 600 X 600 mm Quartz tiles , I had numerous questions and kept in touch with Darren and Tracey and all my questions were answered within a timely manner , not to hold the job up. From all the courses I done, this was the most rewarding, , and, it is from 8.15 until nearly 6 daily to get everything covered, not just office hours 9-4.30 as tutors paid , this is Darren's business and he cares for his students to learn everything. I will now be setting up a tiling business and all my other courses will be the services to help it along ( plumbing, plastering, kitchen fitting) My first job has already paid for all my tools I purchased from Darren and Tracey , plus my wet cutters I got once home, 3 more jobs similar , and that will be my course fees, lodgings and travel money back also I cannot thank Darren and Tracey enough , and cannot recommend this course highly enough, well worth the money spent and the 500 mile round trip to attend. I know I will have more questions in future, so will be keeping in contact with Darren and Tracey Once again I thank you Alan 1st class of 2017”

“The 5 day tiling course was excellent and very enjoyable. It was full on, challenging and full of information. Darren is an excellent teacher and very approachable. I could not believe how quickly I progressed and how much more there is to tiling, choice of adhesives and tile etc. Both Darren and Tracey were very welcoming and hospitable. I would recommend this course whole heartedly if you want to learn a new skill and how to run a tiling business. I feel I have all the information needed to start a business although I am sure I might make a few mistakes on the way. Thank you Darren and Tracey for a great week.”

“Travelled from Perthshire for this 2 week course ( 30th January- 9th February '17 ) & was absolutely blown away with the quality of the teaching / information & techniques learned & the way we were all looked after from Day 1. Information came thick & fast from the off but combined with all the hands on skills we learned I was amazed at what I was able to do by Day 9. Having never tiled before, I was apprehensive before the course started but quickly looked forward to the next day & couldn't believe how quickly the time went by. For anyone looking at this course I cannot recommend it highly enough Darren & Tracey make you feel at home throughout & you'll be amazed at the skills you acquire. “Went on the 2 week tiling course, before i attened i questioned how much i could actually learn in 2 weeks. Well with Darren as your tutor the answer is alot. Its alot of information to take in but the amount you get out of it is superb. I travelled from Northampton to attend this course and perhaps one of my best decisions. “I'm not even sure carlsberg could make a course as good as this 1. From 8:30am on Monday morning until 5pm on Friday my brain was on overdrive trying to take in all the information that Darren put to us. The way he talks you through everything and the knowledge he has about tiling is second to none. If anyone is thinking about a career in tiling and running your own business then don't look anywhere else, this course is the whole package. From the moment I first got in contact with uk pro tiling and spoke to Tracey on the phone I knew that this was the course for me. It's very intense and 100% non stop but the out come at the end is amazing. Not only now do I feel that I can tile like a professional, I also think that I can make a very good living out of it to. “Having already attended a tiling course near to me purely on location (big mistake on my part) i was reluctant to spend more money on training. The course i previously went to was shameful to say the least even though the website looked OK and the sales girl talked a good story which was why i booked, i had a little DIY tiling knowledge before i attended and left knowing no more, the tutor was just no good and the course well, i could name and shame them but i best not. I knew i needed more training so looked further afield and found UK Pro Tiling Training, very impressive website, i rang them up and spoke to Tracey who sounded great on the phone but i had heard this before from the last centre, anyway cut a long conversation short i booked on to this course worrying hope i haven't just wasted 500 quid again. Well this course is mind blowing, i learned more in the first day here than the other course put together. Darren is like a machine when it comes to delivering tiling information, the course is perfectly structured and the level of tiling you end up doing is at a high professional level. The technical information he gets you to understand of why and where you use certain products, why they work and can fail and the practical tiling tricks of the trade he passes on, some of them i have never seen anywhere but get the job done perfectly in record time. The business side alone from Darren who has been a very successful businessman in his time is worth the money for the course by itself. all in all i wish i had of come here first. If your looking for a tiling course and wanting to go and make money from it, do not go anywhere else and make the mistake i did and choose somewhere which is based close to you, i wasted £400 on the first one and like i said learned nothing, this course is a bit more expensive and you might have to travel but 100% you will not regret it. “To say the course is intensive would be an understatement, it's Super intensive! It makes a big difference to taught by someone who still has a passion for the trade and has the in depth business knowledge that's required to run a successful business. Do not make the mistake of thinking this is some guy who's semi retired looking for an 'easy life' until he collects his pension. This course would still be cheap even if the price was 4 x as much.”

“You couldn't learn more about tiling and how to run your own tiling business in 5 days! Darren the course trainer / owner gives it 100 percent and it's best if you are prepared to do the same. I've attended lots of courses and Darren gives much more attention and effort than he needs to. Credit to him and Tracey for a great week. Don't go anywhere else if you want a 5 or 10 day course on tiling etc.”

“I highly recommended this course, I came to the course with no knowledge what so every but soon learned everything I would need to be a stand alone tiler. Darren certainly knows his stuff, his techniques are fantastic & he teaches everyone to a very high standard. The course is full on but it is certainly worth doing. “As I found myself turning into a bit of a jack-of-all trades (master of none!) doing handy-man work, I started getting the urge to get a proper trade. So decided I want to get into tiling. I looked at a few courses online and none of them stood out to me, for various reasons, some seemed too long at 6 weeks (a lot of money spent & time off work), but also they didn't really say what set's them apart from the rest, or offer any kind of business plan. So just sort of called it off, that is until I came across UK Pro Tiling. The only dedicated tiling center in the UK, I like the no-nonsense approach (and that continued throughout the course). I read the positive reviews, rang up Tracey and had a good chat about what's the best course for me, then was booked on to the 9 day course. I'm gonna stop waffling on and just give some facts: *Money well spent *Trainer (Darren) seriously knows his stuff *All aspects of tiling covered *Setting out (for bathrooms, kitchens and floors) *Complete product knowledge (be it tiles, adhesives, grouts etc.) *Complete set of notes to refer back to *How to set up business and market it I could go on! If you're a little skeptical about keeping up with the demands of the course (it is intense) I offer my advise from someone who was by no means the fastest learner out the group, fairly slow actually! but anyway all you really have to do is listen to Darren as best you can, apply yourself to the task at hand and just focus on getting the quality right, before the quantity and you will come out on top! So my biggest thanks go to Darren and Tracey!! (P.S. I promised the Brafferton house in Hartlepool I would recommend them, £25 a night or Darren and Tracey can sort you out with accommodation)”

“The 5 day course was brilliant and I would highly recommend it, regardless of your level of experience you will learn a great deal and come away feeling confident about taking on any tiling job and with a rounded understanding of running a tiling business. Before the course I knew very little about tiling, having worked in an office for 15 years. After completing the 5 day course I know more about tiling than our local tiler, and I've already got my first job tiling a local salon (job secured on the day I returned from the course)! The training is full on and Darren does his best to squeeze his 25+ years of experience into the 5 days, it's a good mix of practical work and discussion / theory. The setting out techniques taught by Darren will save you lots of time on most jobs, and ensure that you are going to get the finish right and the tiles looking level at the end before you even start getting the adhesives out ! You'll get to learn about what types of tiles can be used in which situations, and how to overcome problems when the underlying surfaces can't support the job (e.g. when to use crack mats, concrete boards). You'll learn techniques for scribing and cutting all different types of tiles (e.g. ceramic, porcelain, natural stone) using dry cutters, wet saws, hand scribes, nippers, mitre blocks etc etc. You'll also learn what types of adhesives, grouts, sealants are required in each situation and how to save yourself money by buying the right products at the right quantities. Having started the week with very little experience, by the end of the week I was able to complete an entire bathroom bay from scratch including tile around obstacles such as wash hand basins, baths, corner cuts, windows and reveals, and even completed an artistic pattern as a centre piece and finish the job off nicely with grouting, polishing and learned how to apply silicone properly with no mess ! In case you forget anything printed notes are provided as a reminder and aftercare provided as an ongoing service. Thanks again Darren and Tracey !”

“I have just finished a four day tiling course and one day natural stone/business week at Pro Tiling,after being made redundant I was looking for a career change and looked at quite a few different training courses which were a lot closer,i then found pro tiling and after reading the reviews was still a bit sceptical,so called and spoke to Tracey (Darrens wife)Tracey explained what I would get out of the course and all the benefits,i booked the course and after a five hour drive I arrived,what can I say that hasn't already been said !! It is full on from the moment you step inside,the wealth of tiling and business knowledge that Darren has, and shares is outstanding,explaining why things work and wont work and how to deal with them, as said its full on from 8.30 till 5.30 so if you want a proper professional course then this is it.Now to Tracey,she puts you at ease the moment you get there,always has a smile,keeps the tea coming during the day whilst doing all the office work and looking after the ledgend that is Bentley !!!Since getting back and following Darrens advice,i have been in contact with local tile shops and have secured a bathroom to retile ,a kitchen splash back and kitchen floor,once again thank you Darren and Tracey as I wouldn't of had the confidence or knowledge to have been able to set up and run my own business without your training..”

The course is intense and there is a lot to learn, but it is well worth it! I would strongly recommend this course! “Having been in the fire service for 30 yrs I thought it may be time for a change of career! I looked around at all the tiling courses on offer, some very local, but decided on this one, probably the furthest away, and I am so glad I did. 5 day course, flew by. So much information to take in as this course really does aim to enable you to use it as a career, not just for DIY. What I did love was the simplistic problem solving, such as where to start the first tile on a large wall or floor job which would lead to all the tiles being evenly spread and pleasing to the eye. Another was the business side of your new career. Maybe you are the best tiler in the area but how are you going to source the work, manage customers, deal with accounts etc.... all very important areas and all that the course tutor, Darren, discussed in great detail. The cost of the course will give you the chance to start a new career. Would I recommend. Yes. So happy I attended.”

“To say I had not had a lot of tiling experience was an understatement but having spoken to Tracy over the phone on the run up to the course my mind was a little better. The week I took part in was full on from start to finish and it was 110%go all the time but having listens to what Darren had to say (whom knows his stuff I can tell you) I have left this course full of tiling saying and terminology I would have been scratching my head at had Darren no been so thorough. I left the Army after a full career and it has taken me 2 years to do this course and oh do I wish I had done it earlier. Would I recommend the course to service leaves 200% would I, I is possibly the most worth within course I have ever done and it is ran by two of the niceeat people you could ever want to meet. “Having never layed a tile before in my life I must say I was sceptical of Darren's claim that i would be doing some of the intricate work that was on the website and on the photos in the unit. The course is intense but brilliant from the first initial conversation with Tracy to the last day it has been a Fantastic experience! I can't recommend it highly enough I now have the knowledge and skill to go and make a living for myself and not make someone else rich lol. Also met some cracking lad! Thank you Darren and Tracy!
