“I did not expect to get anything back when I filled in the Tax Refund Companys online form. But Out of the blue I got quite a nice refund, without having to do loads of leg work . I would recommend, if you think you are owed a refund.”

“I was pleased by how quick the process was from start to finish however the amount I was told I would receive was different to the amount I actually received from HMRC. I would like some clarity as to why this is.”

Thanks for the feedback, glad you were pleased with the service. Usually when amounts differ it’s when a refund is for a number of different tax years. HMRC send paperwork out for each individual year calculating each year’s refund separately but (this is where things can get confusing) they include the previous year’s refund too in a cumulative manner. This means that the refund due is the amount detailed on the paperwork for the final year only – rather than the amount stated on the paperwork for each tax year added together. Hi Robert, thanks for the feedback sorry to hear your views. Couple of points to consider – firstly, having checked your application, the figures you’ve stated in your review are incorrect, your refund was for a lower amount so you were not charged the amount you are stating. All our fees are fully laid out when you first apply for our service. Secondly, we work on a no win no fee basis so take every client on in good faith not knowing for sure whether they are actually due a refund until we have completed our work. If we had completed our work and found your tax affairs to be fully in order, that you were not due a refund and didn’t owe any tax either so we had given you the reassurance that you were paying the correct amount of tax and you had received that service completely for free (something that people pay accountants and tax advisors hundreds of pound to do for them) would you still have said we weren’t a good business in your review?
