Hi Bluebell, Thanks for sharing this; we appreciate the feedback. We read and replied to your email regarding some of the brands not getting back to influencers. I think this is more of an isolated case, as brands generally are active on the platform. Unfortunately, it's hard for us to control who brands decide to work with. The best we can do is to match you with potential brands and then wait for them to decide which collaboration to pursue. On a different note, we do have to work on our end to ensure engagement is higher and provide a better experience for the influencers. Please be patient, as product building takes time, and unfortunately, there is no easy fix for this type of challenge here, especially in this case, where we are a marketplace. While it is true that we focused and still focus on gifted collaborations, we recently launched paid & affiliate collaborations as well on the platform. Currently, we're getting brands interested in paid collaborations as well on the platform, and we should be able to expand month-on-month. “The large majority of matches that I got were completely unrelated to my business category. I selected keywords relating to my business and most of my matches were still in other categories that were not relevant to me. Many of the members I was shown, are in follow and comment loops so their follower numbers are inflated and not accurate. I did have a handful of accounts that gave me great content and were nice to work with. It was definitely not worth the $179 for those few people though.”

Hi Michelle, This is Jan from Social Cat; nice to meet you & thanks for the review. We agree there is more work to be done around the matchmaking system on our platform, and we take full responsibility for that. We do have more hands on deck now, and with this in mind, we should be able to build a bit faster. Please be patient in seeing this improve, as the algorithm behind the matchmaking system is quite complex, but rest assured, we take responsibility for improving our product based on feedback like this. Regarding the quality of the influencers, we do have a manual vetting process in place. When influencers sign up with us, we manually check their accounts. To be fully transparent, we do need to perform a manual check of our database to see what some of the influencers do after they sign up with us. Since we do have more than 10k creators on the platform, this takes a bit of time to go through them manually. Our team checks this, but to be transparent, we need to move faster. We're also happy to hear that you did find some creators that were able to satisfy your deliverables, and I am confident we will be able to improve and provide more of them. We would like to invite you in the future to try our product again (if you choose to cancel) and see the progress we make, free of charge. We're confident that all this experience will improve, as we're committed to building a product & business that serves small brands. “It's a great idea but in practice wasn't very useful. Most matches either didn't reply, or did reply, but then said they only post for pay. The vast majority of matches appeared to have fake users. All in all it's difficult to say the month of use was worthwhile.”

Hi Leo, This is Stefan from Social Cat; thanks for sharing this. We agree with you that there is more work to be done on the engagement of our platform (the matches that are not replying, sometimes), and our team is looking for ways to boost engagement, both for brands and creators. Related to the paid influencers, did you get a chance to inform us about this? I looked over your account, and indeed, you are looking mainly for gifted collaborations. Sometimes, some of the influencers, although aware that some collaborations are gifted, still try and push for paid. Unfortunately, this is hard to control, especially if we are unaware of this. If we get informed via email or by opening a report (reports are manually monitored daily), we can definitely help with this. Rolling back to the engagement, I think another reason for the lack of replies from influencers, in this case, is related to the fact that your brand is quite niched, which makes it harder for influencers to accept a collaboration. We're not saying this to defend ourselves necessarily, as we know there is work to be done for the product, but it's more of a personal thought. Sometimes, with niched brands, it gets a bit more tricky to get the influencers excited. Related to the "fake users," our micro-influencers are manually vetted before getting accepted on the platform, but sometimes, some of them might slip through the cracks. I think this is an isolated case, as this is not our experience with hundreds of other brands working with us in the US, the UK, and Australia. We're working to improve the product and the experience, and in the future, we invite you to try it out again, if you would like, free of charge, to see our progress.
