I have used The Stone and Garden Company several times for stone clippings and subbase material. The online process is quick and easy, the products are good, the price is fair. Unfortunately on this most recent order, the experience was let down by a grumpy delivery driver who decided to moan about, the delivery process, the pallet barrow, why didn't I order from somewhere that used HIAB cranes to unload, his route, his company sending to help a colleague who had broken down. Hence only giving four stars when in the past it's been five. A good service and product let down by the 'face" on delivery

Hi David, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review, it's lovely to hear from repeat customers. We outsource the deliveries to the Palletways Network so unfortunately we have no control over the depots/drivers so I will certainly be passing on your feedback to the delivery depot so they speak to the delivery driver on how his mood effected the experience of your order. A lot of aggregate supplier use a tail-lift / pump truck delivery method rather than hi-ab/crane which the driver would be well aware of, sorry you caught him on what was a bad day for him! Hope this doesn't stop you from ordering from us in the future!

Ordering online was easy, communication of delivery was good. When they delivered the guy was friendly and helpful. Delivery time was as expected. No issue with the product looks lovely down. Very please customer. Thank you!

Stones arrived in good condition. The delivery driver was really helpful and tried his best to move the stones where I needed them. I will definitely order again in the future

Ordering from this company the experience for me has been mentally traumatising , as a customer I have felt devalued and unheard. They have been focussed on proving a point rather than listen to me. I feel their priority is to make money and then customers needs last , Even when I told them of the stress and I’ve been nearly crying over the phone. Extremely stressful ordering with them. I have never gone through an experience as bad as this before. I don’t think they realise that they backed me into a corner and I’ve felt pressured by them . Worst experience ever

Stones are fine and good value. Delivery was terrible with me having to pay a re-delivery charge for an issue which even the delivery driver said was not my fault.

Hi Mike, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us, I know you had problems with the delivery side of things. As mentioned on our calls I have sent the haulier (who'll forward it through to the delivery depot that services your postcode area) your feedback and mentioned about the SMS time estimates. Apologies again you weren't 100% happy with everything.

The whole ordering process and scheduling of delivery, was very quick and easy. The missing star, was due to the rude and less than helpful delivery driver.

I ordered 10 bulk bags of 100-200mm cobbles. The first order of 7 bags were all clean and washed as described. The second order I placed of 3 bags were filthy dirty. I literally had to scrub them all to get them clean. They were caked in mud and the bottom of the bull bag was 3 inches deep in mud.

All products are naturally quarried and we don't have any washing facilities on site so some bags can arrive with quarry product on them, I've passed on the feedback through to the Quality Control Department for you though.

The gravel I ordered is exactly as expected. I had an issue with the delivery where both bags had been split in transit which is not directly Stone and Gardens issue, however the customer service department were fantastic in resolving my issue. Would definitely recommend, especially being £10 a bulk bag cheaper than the company I used previously.

AVOID Ordered a sample bag and being satisfied with the quality we pursue to order a bulk bag. Delivery time slot given, no delivery within specified time. After two calls to the company the bulk bag arrives in what I can only describe as a poor condition. This was no ‘element’ of dust as per the company website - these stones were coated! I rang them to complain and say that they weren’t at all like the sample we ordered and advised I was refusing the delivery. The lady I spoke to advised I could ‘hose them down’. I’d need a jet wash and even then I don’t think they’d be usable. The lady I spoke to threatened that I would be charged a delivery fee despite the goods not being up to standard. Complaint escalated and we were asked to send pictures over and someone would call me Monday AM - no call back. I had to chase it again myself. I spoke to a manager who advised me that it’s been investigated and there’s nothing wrong with the quality of the bag - despite her admitting that for her the bigger issue was that there was glass in the bag! She said she was still deducting a £60 charge for delivery! I am lost for words. I ask to speak to someone higher and I’m told there isn’t anyone which I find extremely difficult to believe. I don’t want anything from this company other than my own money returning as I have literally been penalised for this company delivering shabby goods! Appalling service from start to finish. Shame I can’t share the pictures I have from the delivery!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review Kim. We like to receive feedback whether it’s positive or negative, we’re so sorry you weren’t happy with your latest delivery. As per delivery notifications, all delivery timeslots are stated as estimates only. The depots do try to adhere to the dates and estimated timeslots, but any delays caused by traffic and in your case a breakdown is out of our control. We don’t unfortunately have any washing facilities on site and our products are naturally quarried materials which we sell as unwashed, this can result in dust being on the product. However, this is quickly dispersed once laid either by course of nature when it rains or alternatively rinsing your laid material.
