“Great experience ordering from the US. The bed was immaculately packed. Once shipped, transit to the US from the UK was very fast. But most importantly, the bed is amazing. It is very well built, as solid as it gets. The finish is superb, and the assembly was easy.”

“Our bed arrived well-packed and in good condition with nothing missing. Assembly was straightforward and the bed is very solid and well made, the only slight issue being the wooden slats which were rough and splintery in places and needed to be sanded down. We are very pleased with the bed which is ideal for our memory foam mattress and would certainly order from this company again.”

“Different parts were of different quality. The frame was good. The brass knobs were poorly drilled and one of them remains crooked. The feet were badly made and don't seat properly. I had to hammer them into place and the bottom parts where they meet the rubber pads are misshapen. There was fiberglass all over everything and I'm still finding it a month later because the manufacturer couldn't be bothered to wipe the parts down on a £600 product. Frankly, I'd have waited and saved up some more to buy from Nights in Iron if I'd known OBC quality would be subpar for the price.”

“I recently received my Hamilton Iron Bed from The Original Bed Company,from order to delivery it took only three working days to arrive with a very helpful delivery company. There was quite a bit of packaging to take off the bed and dispose of but this ensured that the bed arrived in good condition,once unpacked it became clear to me that I had purchased a first class product. The quality of the bed far exceeded what I was expecting for a reproduction Victorian style bed,I feel that many of the original Victorian manufacturing methods were used in my beds construction,the iron castings are precise and well finished,the metal framework is heavy and strong,the brass fittings are a joy being very heavy and solid brass not brass coloured cheap metal. The bed fittings are well finished with a precision that aids the assembly process,whilst assembling a bed is not a major job I feel that the illustrations supplied with the instructions are very poor and make assembly unnecessarily tricky,if these were improved it would be quite straightforward to assemble the new bed. If you go for brass and iron bed there is one assembly point that you need to be aware of,to secure the brass top bars you will need to lift the weight of the entire end of the bed to insert a very long threaded rod through the lower casings to secure the brass top bar,can I recommend that the instructions are amended so that the long rod is inserted and temporary held in place with some tape early in the assembly process as it would then make the assembly much easier and less of a strain on the back. Once the illustrations and instructions are re jigged it will be a complete and unbeatable product. This is a wonderful quality bed which should last a lifetime and it represents excellent value for money,I am very pleased and can highly recommend this bed. Stephen”

“The bed itself is exactly as we thought and assembly, whilst a lengthy process, was accomplished with only one error. The rods holding the knobs on have to be inserted from the bottom at an earlier stage in the assembly process - so one of us had to lift the bed while the other inserted the rod from beneath. There is one spare rod - but as the bed hasn't collapsed after a month, we will assume it's not required. The delivery, however, was very disappointing. Despite being a bed and the individual boxes quite heavy, the delivery people refused to carry them upstairs and left them in the hall. We should have paid extra, apparently, if we required our new bed to be delivered upstairs. Not many people have downstairs bedrooms unless they live in a bungalow so we would have thought the pricing included delivery to the room required (a bedroom).”

“it pains me to write this review because I really wanted to love this bed. We purchased a cherry - stained Kipling style bed. It was delivered on time, at the end of March and when we had a minor delivery problem the customer service was very helpful. Though it was delivered end of march, we didn't start using it until the beginning of July, because our move was postponed (It was delivered to the new house directly, and it stayed indoors in an office space while we waited to move). When putting the bed together, I noticed that the bed is made of plywood and not real solid wood - the lines of the plywood are distinct and visible through the stain. You can also see places where the wood was tacked/nailed together and then puttied. It looks cheap, but the bed functions and the price was good so I didn't want to quibble over it. However today, December 15th, 5 and a half months since we began sleeping on the bed, the inside beam that is meant to hold the frame slats broke off my husband's side of the bed. He's currently upstairs drilling it back in place. We're really disappointed with the product. I wanted to be able to recommend it because it's hard to find beds with beautiful classic styles these days, but i really can't.”

“Really lovely bed frame and easy to assemble. Worried it wouldn't be very stable but it is so strong. Looks amazing! Said 3 to 5 days 'delivery' but should have said 'despatched'. Delivered on a Saturday though, without asking or paying.so all good. Recommended and would use again.”

“Ordered the king-size Ardo and the king-size Juno cotton mattress. Delivery was very quick. The bed was relatively easy to put together between two of us. The bed itself is beautiful. I was unsure about ordering a mattress online as I have back problems but it is incredibly comfortable and very supportive. I am so pleased with my bed and highly recommend the company. Would definitely order from them again.”
