“We have purchased a total of 12 beds including mattresses from the original bed company over many years, including a batch of beds for our villa in Greece. We will need a couple of extra beds in the next 3 months and know exactly where to come!! The low foot end beds with no knobs are excellent for holiday lets and have proved to be indestructible!”

“We purchased the Tulsk Low Foot End bed a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier. My husband was quite hesitant about buying a metal bed frame as we'd had a bad experience with a poor-quality one in the past. His concerns couldn't have been more wrong! The bed is beautiful. Just to look at, you can tell it's been made to a high quality standard. The best part is that it doesn't creak even a tiny bit when you sit on it, lie on it, or shift around in the night, which we've found to happen with some lower quality metal frames in the past. The parts are very heavy, which speaks to the quality of the product. A word of warning, though: you will definitely need two people to put it together (but that's made clear from the outset in the instructions). Would absolutely buy this bed again and will recommend The Original Bed Company to others.”

“I ordered both a bed and a mattress. When they arrived, the mattress would fit up my stairs. On contacting the company, they gave me a full refund on the matress, not quibbles. I kept the bed and love it. The slide out underbed storage is really great, hold loads and has a really smooth mechansim. I'd really recommend this company, their service and products are excellent quality and good value for money.”

“We took a risk a brought both a bed and mattress without seeing them. When both arrived we did not open as moving house. When we moved in one of the first thing we did was to unpack the bed and assemble. We are delighted with both items. Both are high quality and look fantastic.”

“The bed and matress are as we expected. But much praise must go to the company for the helpful and efficient manner they handled a difficulty. When the matress proved to large to get up the stairs a solution was offered and effected with the minimum of delay. A excellent business to deal with!”

“This bed is excellent quality - very comfortable, sturdy and well-designed. It is also stunning. It’s worth the cost and wait and we plan to order another. The assembly was not difficult but it does require two people.”

“Bed is lovely. Much chunkier than I expected which is great. Managed to put it together myself (just!). Delivery guys were very nice too 🙂. Had to wait a bit longer than initially quoted but worth the wait.”

“Excellent product at a great price. We researched several options for our new bed and OBC impressed in all respects. UK manufactured, beautiful bed frame with solid and heavy brass fittings and a substantial wool mattress- we anticipate years of good service. Mathew was extremely helpful during the sales process and David was first class in delivering and building our new bed. Great product, super service and all at a fair price.”

“We had to wait several months as we chose a bed that was not in stock. It arrived on time and the delivery company were communicative and effecient. We were moving beds between rooms so chose self assembly. The packaging is good for avoiding shipping damage but there was an excessive amount of stickytape, clingfilm wrapping and expanded foam. Not great from an environmental perspective. The assembly instructions were clear but a couple of times it would have been better if items were assembled in a different order. The design uses many, many more nuts and bolts to our other iron beds - one uses none. Factory quality control appears to be lax, as another reviewer notes the slats are rough, poor quality wood with splits has been used. The slats only rest on the frame, so there is an instruction to not slide the mattress over the slats to avoid them shifting. All our other beds (5) have retention for the slats to avoid this problem. Turning a heavy matress on this bed is likely to cause slats to come adrift! The inserts in the posts that take a threaded stem that the finials are attached onto were very badly aligned (picture below all 4 were misaligned). I was able to correct this with a mallet and a block of wood, but a simple jig at the factory avoid this manufacturing defect, which I expect is routinely corrected on site by their assembly staff. We are happy with the bed, which is in a guest room, but would not buy from this company again.”

“We purchased 2 single beds and mattresses for our small bedroom which is mainly occupied by grandchildren throughout the year. The beds were easy to assemble and look great side by side in the room. We ordered the beds on a Wednesday in January and they were with us on the following Wednesday. First class delivery. One comment, and this is not a complaint, it would be helpful to show which way up the cross bar beneath the bed is fitted and whether to put the bolts in from the bottom up or from the top down. Other than that the instructions were very clear. We will recommend them to anyone considering buying their next bed.”

The thorough website clearly explained the construction, and the accompanying photos and diagrams illustrated how well the bedframe was created. I ordered the bed and it was delivered within the timeframe indicated. The materials were well packed and the construction was straightforward. The bed is beautiful and we are absolutely thrilled.
