“I was very impressed with the selection of beds I viewed on line. The bed I chose arrived on the day allocated and my son-in-law had no problem assembling it. The bed is fabulous and really completes my bedroom adding a touch of class. A very well made bed. I would have no trouble in recommending this firm to anyone.”

“We received our Olivia Bedstead last week and are delighted with it. It is exceptionally strong and the colour, Cream, is lovely. After having drawer divans for many years it is great to have space under the bedstead which we are able to keep clean and dust free. We built the bed together in a couple of hours with instructions that were easy to follow, altogether an easy and very rewarding job. There are one or two little creaks on the frame, nothing too worrying and hope that tightening the bolts will sort this out. The slats are extremely well made and do not creak! A very big thank you to The Original Bedstead Company for making us a 6ft wide bedstead with a single bed length. We are very happy to recommend your Company to anyone looking for a very well made and gorgeous bedstead.”

“Ordered our bed during the COVID Lockdown. Our bed arrived on time. The delivery guys were great. We are so pleased with our bed (after we managed to put it together) It’s beautiful, sturdily made and most importantly of all very very comfy. Worth every penny”

“So, I originally placed a negative review because my order was four weeks late. However, the company has been VERY apologetic, and bent over backwards to get my order to me today as soon as it was ready. They also threw in assembly for me free of charge to make up for the delay. They have been really responsive throughout and did their best to help, and to make amends. The chap who delivered and assembled was really friendly and did a great job, and the bed looks absolutely amazing. I'm very pleased with my order and, actually, despite the delay would definitely recommend them to others (and order again!). Thanks, Original Bed Co.”

“Had I commissioned a bed to be made to my exacting requirements, [supremely comfy; high floor- to- mattress top- distance; low-ended, un-fussy base; with easy storage that is accessible without scrabbling on the floor] then I would have ended up with a clone of the bed that I purchased from The Original Bedstead Company - and at a fraction of the cost. I love everything about it and it looks beautiful. The company [Nick] was easy to contact for queries prior to my ordering and, after delivery. Delivery was 'as described' and hassle-free.”

“I ordered my first bed and it arrived dented, then I ordered a sprayed bed which took 5 weeks. When this arrived it hasn’t been sprayed to a high standard. The paint had run and it had been painted over a black bed, the paint began to come off. Because they had not even primed the bed. The screws for the bed were bent, the planks for the bed some were chipped, they tried to blame this on me.”

Dear Lesley, Many thanks for your review. Sorry to hear of your disappointment. Some models do take longer than others, with the lead time for each design being advertised on their particular product page. Our sprayer is very conscientious, and any drips are sanded and resprayed to ensure a smooth finish. I'm unsure how he missed this one but I will pass on your disappointment to him. In terms of the chips, I can see that these are positioned under where the collars of the Selkirk sit. Because these are made of metal and have fairly sharp hidden inner edges, when pushed tightly into place there can be some chipping under the collar. This is completely hidden, and I can assure you though that the paint has completely bonded, hence why it has only occurred in this particular position. We pre-fit each screw fully to ensure that they are straight and have no cross threading, so it would be great if you could send us a picture as per our telephone conversation, allowing us to get an understanding of which ones were bent. Finally, in regards to our heavy gauge sprung slats, we have used these for many years, and should customer's have any issues we are more than happy to send out replacements straight away. “Thrilled to bits with the integrity and beauty of The Original Bedstead Company upholstered bed. Structurally, the bed is extremely sound.....the quality is clearly evident upon assembly, which as suggested by the enclosed directions is a two person job. The bed was delivered in a timely manner considering it had to make its way to The United States. Overall, I'm VERY pleased with my super king Yushan Deep Buttoned upholstered bed. Bravo!”

“Really great bed - adds to the comfort of the mattress and makes quite a statement in our bedroom. However it was not easy to put together and was definitely a 2 person job but the 2 hours spent sweating over it was well worth it. A possible decision to lower the base will not be undertaken lightly!!”

“Great customer service and selection of beds and sizes. Only place I could find a plain black metal frame for a EU king size mattress, and I'm so pleased with it. The prices are good and delivery was super efficient. Also, the bed was simple to put together. Very happy.”

“The day the bed was supposed to be delivered, the delivery company rang me in the morning to say they'd be here within half hour and they didn't arrive, they then told me at 7pm they weren't coming, annoying when I waited in all day! I then had to rebook the delivery. This wasn't the bed company's fault though! When the bed did arrive days later I noticed after they'd gone the one long slim box with the sides and end in was damaged and it wasn't until I tried to put the bed together I realised I couldn't because the centre bar and both side pieces were bent, I called my brother who managed to bend the ends into position so we could put it together, I didn't want to send it back as I'd been sleeping on my mattress on the floor for a while and didn't want to wait whilst it was collected and another delivered. It's a beautiful bed and looks lovely in my bedroom (Edwardian) it's just a shame it arrived damaged.”
