“Having now ordered two beds over the few years I can say that from order to delivery is a seamless transaction. The quality of the beds is worth paying the little extra for. Would recommend to anyone!”

“Whilst the bed is of good quality ... it is rather complex to put together not to mention time consuming. Also, the delivery man wouldn't carry the bed upstairs, leaving my wife to do it on her own as I was away !”

As you will read with many of the reviews, our customers usually find assembly quite a simple process. “It's a bit worrying investing in a new sleeping companion without seeing it in the flesh! But no reason to worry things couldn't have worked out better, excellent communication, delivery on a date of my choice and a well packaged bed. Not being some light flimsy thing it took a bit of unpacking but a couple of hours later it was all put together brass bed knobs taking pride of place! Overall a very well designed solid product with an excellent finish and its even saved me some money our old mattress suddenly feels rejuvenated!”

One thing to note for customers looking for an assembly service, this needs to be specially arranged by calling 01536 656036; prices vary according to location. Whilst we are happy to discuss assembly with you, all of our beds are designed for easy self assembly, as you will read in a number of reviews. In fact 99% of customers choose to assemble the beds themselves.

“We found the customer service at The Original Bed Company extremely efficient and are delighted with the bed which was very good value. The only negative was that the Mortlake bed was extremely difficult to assemble .The bolts were very short and hard to locate within the head and footboard uprights using an allen key when the hole is not visible. In order to put all the bolts in place ,they couldn't be tightened at the outset and then it was hard to locate the allen key in the bolt a second time without being able to see it. An assembly service would mean that we would have been more likely to purchase another.”

“Bed is excellent condition, is sturdy and easy to erect, but probably needs two people. Only slight criticism is that the bed was showing as in stock online when ordered but then it took three weeks to come, as was out of stock at warehouse. Customer service good.”

“I had been searching for a bed that was over 17 inches high, all web searches just displayed tall/high beds with reference to the headboard or were bunk beds. The O.B.C. bed frames have two height settings and with a 6 inch mattress give the required height. I can now get in and out of bed without crawling across the floor. The delivery was on time and the packaging was more than adequate, as to the quality of the bed frame i was very pleasantly surprised, the centre frame support was very sturdy steel box section ,not requiring extra sub legs allowing for unrestricted under bed storage and cleaning. Assembly was straight forward and all the parts aligned perfectly,the supplied spanner was a real drop forged one and the allen key a good fit. The finish ,matt black is very good, and over all the bed is superb value...:~) Note O.B.C. if you include the height settings in a prominent positions on the main web page you will sell many more beds, there are a lot of older and disabled people looking for a more accessible bed, specialist bed suppliers charge astronomical prices for their beds which are out of the reach of lots of people.
