“Communication regarding order was non-existent. Only after I kept ringing did they inform me they could not fulfil my order. Almost 12 days after receiving it. However they were swift with my refund after my cancellation.”

“I ordered some Oak Sleepers 30 X 200 X 2400 The order took a little longer than expected and unfortunately the timber was damaged by the loading straps, On one board I have two deep 3/4 inch indents from the loading straps that I can't sand out or repair! As this oak is for a table top, and the other boards are not as I expected I am a little disappointed.”

“I needed railway sleepers for a second set of raised beds. I had previously bought sleepers from another company (UK Sleepers, but they have lots of different sites). I chose Luxury Wood because they had untreated oak sleepers in the size I wanted and the prices were good. Plus transport was significantly cheaper than competitors. Size options were limited, but I was happy to cut them down to size myself. Delivery took 18 days and Luxury Wood were helpful in arranging this and the delivery arrived well packed. Wood quality is generally good - majority of the 240/20/10 sleepers are straight and have minimal flaws. 2 out of 32 of the sleepers are in my opinion B grade with large long splits that extend a long way down the sleeper - I'm disappointed that these were sent and even more so that they were hidden in the middle of the pallets. This is especially so as before the delivery was dispatched I emailed asking for confirmation that all the sleepers would be Landscape grade as only B grade were showing on their website at the time. There are a few more sleepers with smaller, end splits but that is to be expected. Thus overall the quality of sleeper from the previous supplier was better, but Luxury Wood were cheaper. However I now need to source at least one and potentially two sleepers to replace the sub-standard ones.”

“Delivery was excellent, delivered right into our garage. Driver was most helpful and courteous. However with regard to cost, I would have assumed that buying in bulk would have been more cost effective than buying individual bags. However, after comparing the weight of the half crate to that off bags bought in local discount store there is no saving! The advantage is that wood is delivered in one load as opposed to having to go and buy bags but buying say 5 or 10 bags at a time means not having to find somewhere to store half a crate. As I said, I would have presumed buying in bulk would have been cheaper.”

“Have had all items before and are more than satisfied, the courier being used still did not contact me to arrange a delivery date and time, these are large items and require planning and manpower to store. once again it was by luck that I was home and not good planning.”

“I thought the products, price and quality were amazing. Would 100% use again. I had to amend my order and they were great and made it really easy. The delivery cost is high but it is so heavy and bulky, so to be expected. The really good value wood makes up for delivery cost.”

“I purchased Oak Sleepers to build a Pergola. The order was delivered very promptly and the wood itself was in very good condition (There ARE some splits and a few rough surfaces as it is a natural product, but these were easily removed with cutting, planing or sanding). I am VERY happy and will be ordering again. Be aware, Oak is very heavy so get some help lifting if you order large pieces.”

“Nothing wrong with the wood but the delivery process was a complete farce. The order was placed on the 2nd August. Without any contact in advance, a lorry arrived on the 11th and the driver asked if I would accept the delivery. Without any prior notice and on one of the hottest days of the year, I declined. I contacted the courier company and we agreed that the logs would be delivered on Monday 17th. I waited in all day and at around 4:30 there was a knock on the door from the driver of a van. The logs were in the back of the van - a large transit type of van - and he had no way of unloading them. Nor of course did I. The original courier arrived the following day and it seems the continuous loading and unloading had left the bag in an unstable condition and leaning considerably to one side. The driver said he wasn't fully confident of being able to get the bag off the lorry without it collapsing. Clearly a very dangerous situation. However, he did try and was successful. I don't understand why I was not contacted in advance to agree a delivery date. Without that simple thing, it all descended as I have already mentioned, into farce. Very unprofessional.”

“Whilst the ash logs from Luxury Wood Company are an excellent product the distribution company used in my area to deliver the pallet was not of the standard I have had before. I had asked for the pallet to be delivered on a motorised pallet trolley. They turned up without one and couldn't get the pallet up my drive. I asked them to take the logs back and come back again with the motorised trolley I had asked for which they did but I had to raise the problem with Luxury Wood Company who contacted the distributor to sort it out. So all in all not a good experience.”
