“Price good. Ordered on line and paid in full on 26th Jan. several days wait for delivery no problem. But, Driver put fuel in wrong tank on 8th Feb (neighbours tank) still waiting for delivery to correct tank it is now Sat. 13th Feb. Glad I am not desperate !”

Hello Robin, Yes, this went a bit wrong didn't it, my apologies. I know they did get to you though there was a delay, one thing is certain - it won't happen again! Mark.

“I used to buy energy commercially and believe me, you need to phone round for the best price every time you're in the market. Some suppliers' prices lag behind the market and others seem to be ahead of it. I use NYMEX and Heating Oil Club as benchmarks and buy from Heating Oil Club when they're competitive, especially when the market is volatile (e.g. now!). They're really easy to use - the price is clear and once you pop the order in on line & pay by debit card they tell you by email who the supplier is and when to expect delivery. Dead easy and I reckon they save me 2 or 3p per litre on average. That's £20 or £30 on 1000 litres. As an industrial buyer I subscribe to a 'no free lunches' ethic but Heating Oil Club is the closest you'll get!”

Thanks for your comments Charles, Yes, we were busy but in fairness, our main competitor takes around 10 days unless you pay a high premium so in what was a very busy time, we did quite well I hope. Thanks again. Mark.

“After initially being verbally quoted 52p a litre and asking them to try a bit harder, I was then offered a "special" price of 42p a litre by my previous supplier. I was unimpressed, so searched around and found the Heating Oil Club online. I requested a quote, and it immediately gave me 24p a litre, a saving of 18p on the offer I had just been given. I was able to pay on a card, and the oil was delivered within a week by a local company. I didn't even have to wait in on a particular day or time, so it was very convenient, and the delivery confirmation was left in my letterbox. My old supplier can keep their "special" deals, and I will contact you again next time my tank needs topping up.”
