We are always trying to find the right balance of providing customers the best possible overall value (goods + shipping), as well as ensure that orders arrive quickly and are covered in case of damage. It does mean our standard shipping is a little more expensive, especially if you are buying a cheaper item, but we are looking into alternative slower delivery options that you could use to save some money in the future. I'm not sure what to think yet! I made my first order which was a seamless paper backdrop. The order was fast which was brilliant but the delivery itself wasn't great and a real let down to the company! I had a message to say it would arrive the next day between 8-1800 which was perfect since I was at home. I kept tracking it but the delivery didn't show or update at all until almost midnight where it said there had been a breakdown/accident. So I emailed the company to then be told it had been delivered (the next day) Since I was going to be out and my husband was asleep due to nightshift, I placed a note on the door asking if the delivery could be hidden behind our gate. Instead, it was dumped outside the front of our house and when I say dumped, I mean dumped 🙈 my husband heard it being dropped on the ground. If he wasn't in, anyone could've taken it.. ok its a big parcel but it wasn't the best customer service tbh. I've still given the company a four as there was a free download from joining which sounds good but I'm not entirely sure I'll order from there again due to the delivery service. Update! Mike got in contact with me and explained what happened with the delivery. I have to say that I was impressed by the response and will definitely give The Flash Centre another go.

Hi Kate, Thank you so much for leaving us a positive review. Whilst it's never nice to hear criticisms, in many ways it is more important to us than the positive stuff, as it helps us understand where we can do things better for future. Unfortunately, with Colorama deliveries, our hands have become completely tied with courier choices. Over the years all the couriers we've used have one by one either started out right refusing parcels over 2m long, or have added huge surcharges to these parcels (£50+!) that make them impossible for customers to afford. As options have dwindled, we've ultimately left with one choice, DX courier. Our usual courier UPS won't take them, neither will DPD, TNT, Parcelforce, or a host of others we have investigated. Thankfully, for the most part DX are quite good, and it sounds like with your package if the van hadn't broken down everything would have gone well. Occasionally though, just like every courier we've ever used (at least half a dozen over the years), they do something silly like leaving a package in a doorway. We will pass the complaint on to our account manager at DX, and ask them to re-affirm with their drivers that leaving packages like this is not acceptable. We continue to look out for alternative options to DX and should one ever become available, we'll certainly explore it to see if it's a better (cheaper or more reliable) option for our customers. We'd really love for you to give us another shot, so you can see that as professional photographic retailer, we really care about our customers, and aren't defined by the foolishness of a delivery driver from a third-party courier company. I can't honestly say couriers will always make the smartest choices, but 99% of the time, deliveries turn up exactly as planned and to where they are supposed to go! We send hundreds of packages a day, and invariably the odd one goes wrong here and there. Thanks again for your feedback, and apologies for the inconvenience caused. Mike

I purchased an elinchrom fuse holder priced at £2:50 but was disappointed to be charged over £12 in total with the p&p! The product weighed a few grammes and could have been sent first class post for a couple of pounds. As I urgently needed the fuse holder I accepted the charge but i think you need to be more flexible in your shipping charges…. I note that the postage label stated that it weighed 1kg!

Very impressed with the service and prices I had to contact them as I made an error in my order. It was sorted out within minutes and the order arrived the next day. The goods AD200 PRO II was the best price I could find in the uk and postage was free. Brilliant!

Ordered the GodoxV860iii flash online as the price was competitive and postage free. Never used TFC before but most impressed with the whole service. Used the flash today on my Panasonic G9ii, powerful, totally adjustable and precise.

Ordered on 7th December, although TFC did confirm despatch to UPS on 9th (the next working day) by the 12th it was still sitting in the couriers hub with no confirmation of a delivery date. I emailed TFC to ask them to chase and did receive a prompt reply saying delay was due to time of the year but if I had not received by the end of the following working day they would despatch a replacement with an alternative courier. UPS reported a missed delivery the following day (Saturday) but as there was somebody at home at the time they purport to have tried this is blatantly untrue. I reported this to TFC first thing on Monday morning (16th), told them we had had these sort of issues with UPS with other deliveries in the past. I asked for confirmation that they would stick to their original promise and send out a replacement and I would return the first package if it was ever delivered. I received a reply later in day saying that my order had been cancelled. So that has left me trying to find a replacement for delivery with only 1 week until Christmas. I chose TFC as my supplier as I try to order from smaller businesses than Amazon, but I have ended up going back to Amazon. I have received the goods from them today!

I’ve reviewed your order and can confirm it was dispatched promptly on the next working day (Monday) via a next-day service. Unfortunately, UPS experienced issues delivering to your address, which we understand has been a recurring problem in your area. Despite our best efforts to resolve this, we issued a refund quickly to allow you to source a replacement elsewhere, as we wanted to avoid further delays or disappointment. We’re deeply sorry for the frustration this caused and have escalated the issue with UPS to prevent similar occurrences in the future. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve, we are looking into the prospect of giving customers more courier options in the future. However, as with any solution, there are trade-offs. Different couriers arrive for pickup at varying times, which impacts daily cut-off times, and some couriers come with their own set of challenges. For example, we’ve previously faced issues with DPD failing to show up and Parcelforce leaving packages unattended. It’s something we’re carefully considering to ensure we provide the best possible service. As a gesture of goodwill, if your original package does eventually arrive, it’s yours to keep for free. I'm pleased to hear you did manage to source from elsewhere in time for Christmas, so hopefully you also end up with a spare from us free of charge.
