I have bought a new, specialist 2 stroke enduro motorcycle. The problem was, no online service recongised it.

I have a skyteam 125cc 4 year no claims full bike licence third party only not sure why this is so expensive if I was to insure a Honda 750cc fully com it would be cheaper. Regards James King

Made me think my insurance was due. So I renewed. Unfortunately my old policy had a few months to go due to me changing half way through. The renewal company kept all the money as administration charges. Please double check your expiry date.

As you got my name wrong, not impressed; I hope my policy is actually valid! (Graham NOT Simon)

It's not the service provided by the comparison sites that is the problem. It is the way that bike and other vehicle insurance companies/brokers present their fees. The insurance market is a monopoly plain and simple. Quotes are fixed and if you don't believe me check on-line first then call the company directly, you will invariably get a better quote that you negotiate on the phone. The other 'fix' I find on the compare sites is the bait and switch tactic. The first time with a company is a reasonably priced quote but the renewal is much higher, even with no claims and no points. This forces a customer back to the compare sites to go through the whole process again with a new insurer just to get the same price as last time. I have wasted a lot of money will unscrupulous 'brokers' - including some of the better known ones and I have challenged and won refunds through the ombudsman service for 'miss-selling' products and changing my declaration to suit the price. I have nothing against the 'compare' sites, but they are not representative of the true insurance market. Buyer beware.

Whilst the price charged was very good, the overall experience was not. Having received and accepted my quote I received a demand for details of a category 1 immobiliser. At no point during the quote process had this been mentioned. Whilst this was eventually accepted by the insurer and the original price honoured the tone of written correspondence and general indifference of the staff involved was a real disappointment. Would I use them again? Probably - on price but we'll see.

The price that you are quoted on the internet is not what you end up paying. This happens every time despite not changing your details or information.

the cost was all most the same as the cost of my bike and any other than third party the execs was as much as the value of my bike! I accept that as a new rider I have to prove I am a good risk but what is the point of making me take third party only as any other insurance ment I was paying more for no benefit? it's mad

Insurers would not honour the quotes given

The prices quoted on the comparison were in some cases 50% below the final price. Example, one insurer quoted £174.00 - called to buy price had increased to £380.

Ended up costing me more money in phone calls because when we call bike insurer, you can only give the number of the company that supposedly is the cheapest. They they say that the price is not the one that refers to that particular reference number, and it goes on and on and on I will never use this site, or any other like it in the future, total waste of time, and effort

When I enquired for a quotation over the phone I was quoted £300. I thought OK fine. After two weeks of purchasing my bike and rang again the price shot up to £380!. I was not haopy. After much discussion I managed to get the price down. I was never told the quotation was valid for 7 days!

Huge faff on. Normally I use the big bike insurers, press a button to pay and its done. I had to fill out forms and mess about with numerous phone calls. I shan't be using them again
