“As a new comer to a motor scooter at the age of 75, the amount of voluntary and compulsory excess make it highly unlikely that one would ever use the policy to repair damage to the bike. The option is to have a low excess and high premium. On balance I would prefer the lower premium. This policy also means that it is possible to keep premiums at a constant level plus inflation without the distortion of high repair costs,”
