“The course was incredibly helpful in introducing me to both the concepts and practical skills of teaching English. Before taking the course, I didn't know how to prepare for a lesson and assumed there would be a limit to what I could gain from an online program. However, I found that TEFL made remote learning enjoyable. I could evaluate my understanding through the manageable quizzes and practice creating lessons through the assignments. I think TEFL cleverly incorporates its teaching values into the course. Instead of simply providing the correct answer, the course prompts you to come up with the answer first. I thought this was a smart way to demonstrate the role of 'elicitation' in learning, as it helped me retain the information better through active thinking. It was also beneficial to teach a student in real time, allowing me to experiment with what I learned in class. If I had one piece of advice, I would recommend more detailed feedback for the quizzes. Some of the feedback was a bit insufficient (e.g. "This is correct"). I believe it would be helpful if more questions provided longer explanations. Overall, this was a rewarding experience that opened up my eyes to the vast world of English teaching. I'm glad I chose to take this course!”

“Just completed the Virtual part of the 140-hour regular program. It was so great, I’m so happy I went in on the extra hours and had an opportunity to meet with an incredible instructor over zoom over two different weekends. I have no experience in this sort of thing and was very nervous about doing this, after taking the zoom classes I’m now looking forward to the rest of the online courses because I feel so much better about what to expect going forward. I feel so good about the TEFL organization which before taking this course I knew nothing about but my instructor was so helpful and knowledgeable about what to expect and how to do it, I feel much more confident about the decision to do this. I had so much fun meeting people from all around the world that by the last class, I really was sad to be done with the course mainly because our instructor Stephen Clarke just made it so much fun. I feel so ready and excited to start this journey after that experience, I just can’t recommend the 140-hour Virtual Premier TEFL Course enough totally worth it.”

“The coursework is very helpful for a person like myself who is interested in teaching ELL students. The lessons are great at providing real examples that showed me how a classroom is conducted and how to create lessons for all students. However, I do have a complaint about my tutor as the feedback that I received was very brief, and when a minor mistake was made, the assignment had to be completely redone. This would not be an issue, but it would take my tutor the full 48-hour limit to re-grade the assignment just to find another issue with the same assignment. It felt very unprofessional, yet I was still satisfied with the amount of time they dedicated to the lessons and the videos that clearly outlined how to be a good teacher. I hope to apply the lessons I’ve learned and become a great teacher for whatever students I have in the future.”

“Good experience. Lessons were easy to follow and the videos were very clear and helpful. I liked following along with a class of learners-it's was neat to see them grow in their skills along the way! The checks for learning were spaced well and helped to reinforce the information. The assignments were useful, but the word limit made clear explanations of my lesson plans challenging. It made the feedback feel nitpicky at times since many of the details requested by the teacher were ones I omitted due to word limit constraints. Otherwise, I am glad to have taken this course. It was very informative and useful. I will use many of the techniques and skills I learned in this course with my students.”

“The videos are fine and easy to follow. The feedback I got from my tutor was not only completely inconsistent with how the videos teach you to teach but it was also inconsistent when I resubmitted the assignments. It was as if he wanted me to fail a few times so he kept changing the bits of the essay that were wrong. I don’t think I’m Ready to Teach after this course as it’s completely baffling. I passed so will go on to further my skills elsewhere. I already teach in a uni which made the experience even more confusing as the feedback made No sense in any teaching capacity. I Wouldn’t recommend this course unless you’re not serious about teaching abroad and just want a bit of fun”

“I found this course very straightforward and aligned with my goal of obtaining my TEFL quickly. The value is in the amount of help that is available. You get a tutor and the wiki groups are surprisingly cogent to the problems I was having. I was never stuck. I would caution you to read all the instructions with the assignment. Some assignments have long instructions and it is easy to miss a key detail. Having recently obtained my TEFL I am just starting my job search. I do like the blog articles about how getting a position with a TEFL is different from a regular job search.”
