“I would give 4 stars because there is always room for improvement! However I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The units are well put together. The videos and other teaching methods are elaborate and at the same time short enough to retain concentration especially for people like myself who have not studied for years. The cues/guidelines for the assignments are very helpful and at the same time challenging in order to get a lot of practice in structuring a lesson/class. My personal tutor Thomas has always replied to my messages in good time and the assignments were marked promptly. The one very minor criticism was an activity 'throwing a toy' to adult students to get their turn to answer even if they are complete beginners. I would use that method with children instead. But this is only my personal opinion! At the end of this course I am definitely more knowledgeable and more confident. Many thanks, Elena”

“The TEFL Org is very well organised and assignments are returned amazing quickly with excellent advice. I really enjoyed the grammar section and learned a lot even though I have taught English at Middle School. The recommended book is fantastic though expensive but wonderful to own as a reference. My only criticism is that the lessons are too similar and need a bit more inspiration especially with accessing resources that would possibly be available even in the poorest of countries eg cardboard to make simple clipboards. I have been a headteacher in two schools and I have taught a variety of subjects so I am a bit picky. I have observed a wide range of lessons and I would have liked to see some outstanding ones as exemplars. However the course has given me the confidence to teach English as a foreign language so it does what it promises.”

“TEFL focuses rightly on the teaching experience which suited me well after a career in spoken and written business English...the PPP focus was right on track for me. Not all students managed the format well. That was distracting to me but I don't know how to suggest TEFL could avoid it. Our weekend instructor was excellent.”

“I've completed my 168-hour Level 5 Online. The TEFL Org course content allows you to start your journey with confidence. The course was super engaging and had a ton of videos. I was so grateful for the feedback from my Tutor Arthur who mark my assignments. He provided what I should focus on and what I should have done and what I could do in the future. I highly recommend anyone keen to teach English to take this course. They are so supportive and helpful from start to finish. The quality is good for an online course too, and worth the price.”

“My wife, Kristina, and I each recently completed the 188-hour Virtual Level 5 TEFL Course. In general, I found the various sub-Courses to be easy to approach, and the unit-by-unit setup allowed us to proceed fairly quickly through the material as our personal schedules allowed for. If I had to give a critique of the courses, I would say that some of the questions on some of the quizzes were from material that was not deeply discussed until a later unit. But since the quizzes could be repeated without penalty, it wasn't a major issue. I assumed that it might even be there by design to get students thinking of topics ahead of time. I liked the Assignment-Tutor-Feedback structure for checking that we understood the material, and it allowed me to get creative in designing different types of lessons with different lesson structures. Again, if I had to give a critique, the instructions on some of the assignments were not as clear about what specific information was being looked for in particular sections. For example, the instructions may have said something like "make sure to use the target language" but the feedback mentioned "make sure to use the target language in the Practice stage." If I had used the target language in the Presentation stage but not the Practice stage, I might be asked to re-do the assignment, and specifying that particular detail to begin with could avoid that situation. (Just to note, I was not asked to redo the assignment, I am just giving this as an example of a potential issue since you asked for positive and negative feedback and this is what came to mind.) One second thing that I remembered from the course, I do not think that we did an ESA lesson structure in any of the units. I remember it being talked about, but I do not remember actually doing it, and that is one of the few areas for lesson structures that were talked about that we did not actually use in practice. All in all, I found the course very informative and helpful, and if Kristina or I need to take a more specialized area to help with a job in the future (I am specifically thinking about the Young Learners, Business English, and Test Preparation courses), we would certainly like to use The TEFL Org for those trainings if we are free to choose to. “My TEFL 120 hour course was interesting and straightforward to complete. Sometimes the content for the course was not in a logical order, so some concepts were part of a lesson before they were properly introduced. This could be a little frustrating, I found myself researching concepts and worrying that I didn't understand them, just for them to be covered in the next topic.”

“I really enjoyed this course, which I think for learning grammar for one, and not being one of my favorite things to learn at all 😁 says a lot. Besides being enjoyable to learn, everything was presented in a very easy to follow manner. I signed up for a follow up course right after 😊”

“Excellent Structure and very easy to understand material. Above all it gives you a fantastic foundation for teaching in general but also there were lots of great ideas for games, activities and lessons. I would recommend this to anyone thinking of teaching, and some of the courses would be god for even veteran ESL teachers to widen there skills.”
