“Content is good but the 120 hour course does not necessarily take nearly this long. Some questions in the reviews were confusing and some of the videos were potentially too long and could get boring.”

“The course was good, it took more than 120 though. The feedback from the Tutor was very helpful and supportive. The quiz at the end of each section was useful as recall of information. The Unit with all videos to watch was too easy. There should have been a video in the last two units.”

“I really enjoyed the online course. I thought it was well planned and layed out, easy for me to follow. The work load(h.w. & test)was just enough, so i could finish everything with enough time, learn about the topics and not feel over loaded and rushed. Overall I really like this class because all lectures, assignments, and tests are straight forward. A couple things I dislike about the class are that there should be more opportunities for extra credit and it would be awesome if the final was an objective essay about what we have learned in this class or what we like about the class. I believe that I have more knowledge about ocean, weather, and marine lives and hopefully, I can use them in real life.”

“Horrendous. 6 months learning solitary online with only 2 days in person has not helped me at all. I have spent 3+ hours most days struggling alone. Not good for confidence at all. Very frustrating. I have now submitted all my work and have 7 days left. I am going to fail. My question - why would I pay a further £69 to sit for another month on my own struggling with work I don't understand?”

We certainly do not advertise that we offer full in-person courses. As an online TEFL course provider we have always offered self-paced online courses where tutors are assigned to help students if needed. Your tutor will have emailed you with their contact details when you first signed up. Please don't hesitate to contact them if you are struggling with your course, they are there to help whenever you need. We also try to ensure that the time frame of each course is made clear on our website, and also each student's dashboard. So they can keep track of this time and avoid buying an extension. “I took the 120 hour course and thought it was great! My tutor Angie was wonderful and always marked my assignments very quickly, usually within two hours. Before this course I did a different 120 hours course through i-to-i and ended up having a horrible experience, particularly with their customer service. TEFL.org was the exact opposite and I couldn't be more satisfied with their service! Highly recommend for anyone looking to get TEFL certified!”

“Actually, I am quite an experienced English teacher, but I have never worked abroad, only in my own country, Ukraine, and my native language is the same as that of my students. Therefore, the course still brought me new experiences. The most challenging part was the section on working with large groups, and I completed it last. I couldn't understand how it was possible to teach such a large number of people, but when I did the assignment, it felt like managing a well-organized Speaking club. And that can be interesting! Thank you for the course. I don't know yet how I will use this knowledge, I don't have a plan, but I hope it will help me expand my horizons. I hope for good luck.”

“Feedback 1. The section on Grammar should be expanded to incorporate more ‘technical’ knowledge needed to be a good English teacher. Currently, while the course it does cover some basics, it presupposes a certain level of grammar knowledge- which may not be true. Upon getting TEFL certified, they may therefore get a false sense of accomplishment and feel they can become good English teachers, which may not be so, if they aren’t totally up to the mark in their grammar and technical knowledge. 2. Consider introducing (perhaps optional?) - a live English speaking assessment section (similar to IELTS test) 3. While the classes are shown for British English (esp. Scotland), the facilitators refer to American English- why is that? 4. Please upload some videos into these 2 modules: Telephone/ Remote teaching and Teaching large classes 5. Videos: add option to activate subtitles on the video, in addition to the transcript below. This is because sometimes the audio quality is not good (due to mic placement or cross-talk between students) and if one scrolls down to read the transcript, the video is no longer visible on the same screen and the experience is jarring. 6. Quizzes: In a scenario when I pass a quiz but scored less than 100%, for those questions that I did not get right, you must show in ‘Feedback’ what the correct answer is, instead of only saying “Sorry, that's incorrect.””

This could be a valuable addition for our students, offering them a chance to practice their speaking skills in a similar format to the IELTS test. Generally, when a course is purchased in USD, it automatically places you on the American English course, so this will be referred to during the training.
