“Hello! My American friend recommended that I take this course. She said that she liked it. I really enjoyed the course. I especially liked that I could take my time and do it according to my pace. I took the notes, but I wish the course materials were available to view after the completion (to refresh my memory). The TEFL team has been helpful and accommodating throughout this journey. “Absolutely loved this course (198hr Level 5) The lessons were varied, I was able to study around family, work and health. The support was excellent and tutors very helpful and encouraging. I've enrolled in a more specific course as I enjoyed the experience so much!”

“I am a little disappointed in the course, considering this is an English course, the amount of spelling mistakes and other errors, in the course material was shocking. Some of the questions in the assessments were written very poorly, and it was unclear about what was actually required in the answer. I understand the 48 hours to mark assignments, but when I emailed my tutor for guidance (usually about what she's actually wanting as a question answer), it would take at least 48 hours for a reply, which normally by that point I'd already submitted, and had it marked, before receiving a reply. If we were having a conversation via email, it would take a week or more to communicate, even if I replied instantly to my tutor, I dont think that's acceptable, and if that's how I treated clients in my job, I would be sacked. Overall, I'm not happy and won't be recommending to others.”

“My experience with The TEFL Org has been all in all quite pleasant, except for some technical issues with videos and a couple of puzzling assignment instructions. All in all I would recommend it to a friend.”

“Well structured course. I learnt s lot and I feel I am ready to start teaching. It’s good to go at own peace and be able to review lessons. The only thing that was a bit annoying for me was waiting until the Tutor answered a question as sometimes I just had to wait until I could continue.”

“I undertook this course because I needed to have a EAL certificate. I did find it very interesting but a lot of the content was directed towards people who perhaps were not teachers so it was a little patronising for me. I am very pleased to have passed the course.”

“I was impressed with the amount of detail that went into the programme. I was, however, distracted with the one tutor, who uses SO many gestures in the video that I prefered to just read the transcipt while she spoke, rather than watch. There is, understandably, a lot of repetition, which re-enforces the learning point. My tutor, Alex, was always quick in marking my assignments and provided useful additional content.”

“I found this course VERY user-friendly, which was a feature I was most looking for in an online course, seeing as I don't engage with online learning as well as I do in real life. One major bonus for me was the fact that it also offered an in-person intensive weekend course, which I found extremely useful, well-planned and successfully delivered, with a real-feel of life as a TEFL teacher: planning & delivering lessons as a teacher with lots of guidance and feedback, but also attending lessons as a student to get an idea of what pupils might experience. I thouroughly researched multiple courses by reading their reviews (and this course was by far the best rated) and also signed up to the online TEFL Taster to get a feel for the platform, the inferface and the content, and to see how I would engage with it. The cost for the 120h course was very well-priced for what it offered: 2 full days of in-person learning, videos, materials and resources, advice for future jobs and locations, a helpful and prompt tutor to feedback and give advice on assignments. I found the short, but to-the-point videos worked best for me, as they kept me engaged, made me feel motivated to continue once seeing my fast progress, while the quizes made sure I took in and digested the information and consolidated it. I also enjoyed the assignments as they provided me with a real opportunity to put in practice what I have learned and got a chance to act as a teacher in preparation for the real thing. My most challenging aspect when writing assignments was sticking to the word count and not going over, which is a skill I can now say I master. The classroom practice videos were of tremendous help: by seeing it done correctly and wrongly I could better gage into what dynamic to expect between students and teacher, and how a well-planned lesson can land if delivered well or not so well. The only downside was that I couldn't hear the students' input or conversations when peer/group working very well at times, perhaps because they didn't have microphones. Advice: I started my TEFL course on the 20th October 2023 and attended the in-person classroom course on 4th and 5th November and I HIGHLY recommend you take a similar approach. Starting from the beginning with the real life classroom experience will set you up with strong foundations to continue and succeed in the online part of the course. You are given a booklet, handouts, demos and practice materials which will greatly assist you in your future assignments and planning!”

“In general I felt it was a good course with some elements considerably more useful than others. The grammar course was interesting and I learned some things I'd never learned before. For example, I'd never learned the term "gerund" in any class ever. The methodology course was useful and interesting. The video observation course was "OK" . Teaching larger classes and the telephone teaching courses were less useful. The website navigation worked well most of the time with only occasional minor navigational inconveniences. It never crashed and was always usable. The videos were generally good examples of teaching technique. The difference in UK and American usage was occasionally amusing but not a major distraction. All in all it was time well spent and I got some ideas for teaching I would not have considered before taking the course. Thank you!”

“It is an interesting course, as a native speaker there are certain points that you know outright but might not consider when teaching someone new to the language. Is this irreplaceable? No. Is this useful? Yes.”

“I like this course a lot. It started with grammar and then explained the basiscs of good teaching, gave examples of bad teaching as well haha, but what I really like was the broad range of videos showing how to prepare a lesson plan, how to adjust it depending on age, number of students, circumstances and everything. I recommend it to everyone! It's enjoyable and useful!”
