“The coursework is very helpful for a person like myself who is interested in teaching ELL students. The lessons are great at providing real examples that showed me how a classroom is conducted and how to create lessons for all students. However, I do have a complaint about my tutor as the feedback that I received was very brief, and when a minor mistake was made, the assignment had to be completely redone. This would not be an issue, but it would take my tutor the full 48-hour limit to re-grade the assignment just to find another issue with the same assignment. It felt very unprofessional, yet I was still satisfied with the amount of time they dedicated to the lessons and the videos that clearly outlined how to be a good teacher. I hope to apply the lessons I’ve learned and become a great teacher for whatever students I have in the future.”

“Good experience. Lessons were easy to follow and the videos were very clear and helpful. I liked following along with a class of learners-it's was neat to see them grow in their skills along the way! The checks for learning were spaced well and helped to reinforce the information. The assignments were useful, but the word limit made clear explanations of my lesson plans challenging. It made the feedback feel nitpicky at times since many of the details requested by the teacher were ones I omitted due to word limit constraints. Otherwise, I am glad to have taken this course. It was very informative and useful. I will use many of the techniques and skills I learned in this course with my students.”

“The videos are fine and easy to follow. The feedback I got from my tutor was not only completely inconsistent with how the videos teach you to teach but it was also inconsistent when I resubmitted the assignments. It was as if he wanted me to fail a few times so he kept changing the bits of the essay that were wrong. I don’t think I’m Ready to Teach after this course as it’s completely baffling. I passed so will go on to further my skills elsewhere. I already teach in a uni which made the experience even more confusing as the feedback made No sense in any teaching capacity. I Wouldn’t recommend this course unless you’re not serious about teaching abroad and just want a bit of fun”

“I found this course very straightforward and aligned with my goal of obtaining my TEFL quickly. The value is in the amount of help that is available. You get a tutor and the wiki groups are surprisingly cogent to the problems I was having. I was never stuck. I would caution you to read all the instructions with the assignment. Some assignments have long instructions and it is easy to miss a key detail. Having recently obtained my TEFL I am just starting my job search. I do like the blog articles about how getting a position with a TEFL is different from a regular job search.”

“It was a comprehensive course, and yet flexible enough to be completed while workling a full time job. I reviewed my English and the recorded lessons gave me an idea of what teaching will be like. There are endless jobs teaching English online and in person, I am already teaching a few one-to-one online lessons to young learners.”

“I thought long and hard about taking the EAP course as I've been involved in TEFL for decades and, with a particular series of university classes/workshops in mind, wondered if the course would be as 'academic' as hoped. I was pleasantly surprised by how challenging it was, and really pleased to earn the certificate. I'd discovered tefl.org through Carl Cameron-Day's videos & confess to dreaming he'd be my mentor, but I really appreciated working with Asif Haque -- tefl.org's people are definitely its strong suit, along with the consistent quality content and 'user-friendliness' of its platform. I attach a photo of two of my 'toughest customers' in academe, and thank you for the confidence I've gained for working with a wide array of academic students; this is a wonderful TEFL niche.”
