“I am already an experienced online teacher but wanted a TEFL course to help me understand the needs of my EAL students better and particularly how I can teach them the language specific to science and maths they will need. The course was well written, marked quickly and with useful feedback and I feel I have learned a great deal.”

“This course was well-organized in terms of content and a great way to earn your certification at your own pace. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to earn their TESOL/TEFL certification in a versatile format. That being said, the course does need to be reviewed. Most of the unit on teaching students via phone/online is very outdated in a post-COVID and very modernized online teaching world. It would also be really beneficial to be able to see more of an explanation as to why certain questions were marked wrong during the quizzes. I saw on many of the forums that other users had the same questions about some of the answers that were marked wrong but no explanation was given. As a whole, though, this course was well-organized and a good review for someone who has already completed bachelors-level TESOL coursework and just needs to be certified.”

“The courses are well-presented and easy to follow. The Tutors are very useful, and they respond within the time frame designated, to any inquiries you may have or assess your assignments. After the assignments, they leave invaluable feedback and suggestions on how to improve your lesson plan and even examples of other lessons for you to take. The time given to finish the course is more than enough to carry out, at any pace you want or need.”

“A very comprehensive, fun and effective course. Taught me everything I needed to know to get started teaching, and did it in an enjoyable, easy-to-use way. “I really enjoyed the TEFL course, I was very well taught, especially the weekend 20-hour course. For the 120-hour course, I would suggest some more tutor involvement, especially for the methodology course which I struggled with at times. I would advise more concrete examples of lesson plans for each of the structures in the resources so new teachers can have more of a support access to the resources.”

“The courses covered a lot of different topics within teaching English as a foreign language, and tasks were relevant and manageable to complete independently. “The TEFL was very engaging and I learned a lot from the TEFL course. The course was a good mix of quizzes, videos, and assignments. My tutor was amazing and found her feedback very useful and was easy to understand. I was able to complete my course in a relatively short amount of time and it was in time for the new school year. “It was good - perhaps comprehensive note provision of what we did in each class would make it better. The tutor was very engaged and patient. I would have liked more ability to practice teaching - because I think experience and feedback are more effective methods for schooling tefl students on how to teach. Even though the tutor asked lots of questions, I think the students being more present in the class is useful.”

“I thought that this program contained many good lesson ideas and covered grammatical concepts in a thorough and informative way. I feel like the classroom lessons with the same students all the time were enjoyable because we got to get to know them a little and connect with their personalities (like Ines, Raf or Elizabeth) and the teachers were very good too. I did feel some lessons were more boring than they needed to be though because they were explanations of concepts rather than demonstrating them. For example, the lesson explaining realia didn't have any realia in it, it was an explanation of realia which to me was not as effective. I understand that all the lessons are demonstrated in the classroom after they're taught but it seemed like there was a learning and entertainment opportunity that caused me to disengage sometimes as a student. Otherwise, it was a great exercise and I'm thankful for the ability to improve my skills, consider new perspectives and gain some valuable teaching knowledge.”

“I started the course, thinking that, as an experienced teacher, there would not be much that I didn't know. I love grammar, so that part did seem easy and I thought that the whole thing would be an absolute breeze. I was wrong. The tutors explained and demonstrated such an array of methods, it was astounding. The assignments were marked and given extremely useful feedback, with signposts towards further reading. In all, the course is a superb grounding in the basics of TEFL. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to teach English as a foreign language.”
