“The subject matter was pertinent and, at times, fascinating. I am currently learning another language myself and this process provided valuable insight into the challenges of teaching a second language. The tests were sometimes quite challenging and required a review of my notes, but at other times, the rests seemed a bit simple.”

“The course was very informative and straightforward. I learnt a lot and I especially appreciate the extra knowledge on methodology and handling telephone teaching. My tutor Alex was very supportive and had given me a lot of creative ideas and activities to use. I can't wait to try their advanced courses soon.”

“I found the certification process with The TEFL Org satisfactory overall. One piece of constructive crit I might offer is that the video observation course is highly redundant after completing the methods course. I would suggest supplementing the former by including a business english course in the standard 120-hour program, instead of tagging it on to the “telephone teaching” course (the name of which I would change to distance or remote teaching and update the content accordingly in order to appear more contemporary). Tutor feedback was always prompt and very helpful, I really appreciate that. Moreover, the post-cert outreach (webinars, jobs map) is indispensable to those of us starting out on the TEFL path. I had the sense that I would love to work for The TEFL Org, given its upbeat and innovative spirit which it presents in the online course.”

“TEFL Org is very professional with the presentation of topics in the course I just completed and I believe it is same with others. The language is simple to understand, subtopics well laid out and consideration for visual and spatial learners with their short clips on topics. A beginner in the teaching profession will find TEFL the best place to start their career.”

“A few questions/emails didn't receive responses. In particular, emails I sent regarding internships listed on the website seem to have been ignored. My tutor even forwarded one such inquiry of mine to the info@ address and I never heard anything. I was mostly satisfied with the course itself. The Grammar course was very helpful in reviewing long forgotten terms and concepts. Following the videos in the Methodology and Observation courses, I genuinely feel prepared to teach normally sized classes. I was generally satisfied with all of the courses and only had one complaint (explained in course feedback) about the preparedness I gained from the Large Classes Course-- however, I can't imagine how large classroom teaching may be taught any other way than experientially. I also have one other question. The World Guide which TEFL.org publishes? Why are small European countries like Lichtenstein and Luxembourg excluded? What about Iceland? Greenland? And why is Israel not on the list? I'd have fpund a TEFL-spedific overview of Israel very helpful. Hope this is all useful feedback.”

“Our class was taught by Asif who is very lovely and engaging, he even gave me advice on an upcoming interview (to which I passed). The course in Brighton is based right next to the train station, so it was an easy commute.”

“I enjoyed my TEFL course! The whole course was well structured, particularly the grammar and methodology course. I believe these two modules form the heart of the TEFL course. Additionally, the video material and explanation were clear and easy to follow. However, I felt that the Telephone Teaching Course and Teaching Large Classes were interesting but lacked a bit of depth. The support I got online from my tutor Arthur was great. He provided great feedback with extra pointers and tips. Extremely helpful! Also, a big thanks to the support team - Thomas! For some reason, quite a few videos in all modules didn't tick off as done. Thomas gave me some tips on how to solve this issue, but unfortunately, none of them worked on any of my devices.”

“This course was very exciting. It has a great structure of learning including Alex’s feedback which is quite straight forward and useful. The methods I’ve learned at TEFL were quite useful and not so hard to use in my actual English lessons.”

“There is some good material here and I like the student centered emphasis. However, I think the assignments are far too prescriptive leaving very little room for flexibility or creativity. It is fine to have a basic structure but not to be able to deviate, even if this is explained clearly, is unrealistic in a real teaching situation. However, I did learn from doing the lesson plans but not much from the quizzes ...some of which were a bit insulting to the intelligence of the student. I guess you are trying to pitch at all levels of student but perhaps this is a mistake as I think a real beginner with no teaching experience would be ill-equipped by this course. Nevertheless, as someone with a lot of teaching experience but none of TEFL, I did learn from the course materials and much of it, particularly the grammar section, was clearly laid out and easy to follow.”

“The course was extensive and informative. The methodology is clear throughout and i feel like i have a clear grasp on how to teach english as a foreign language. I would say the true / false quizzes are sometimes too easy and in some cases the in class videos are too long. Other than that a very good course.”
