“I really enjoyed the course, although it was not easy to do, but overall the most useful part was the methodology and the grammar options. As I had no previous knowledge or teaching methods I found this interesting but very challenging. The grammar was an excellent reminder for me as I found I did forget what certain things are called and just made me think in slightly different terms of how I speak every day. The tutor was quite helpful as well with her suggestions. The only items I found would benefit from a definite update to the course are telephone and video teaching as some information is certainly out of date since the course was written and I felt it did not need to be separate, but probably better absorbed as part of video observation module or even within methodology. In any case, I will probably take one other short course at a later date. Thank you very much.”

“The TEFL course was very interesting and useful. It was great being able to do this online and at my own pace. The layout was excellent! The only thing I found quite confusing was the video assignment but I got there in the end.”

“I really enjoyed the course and the preparation it gave you to teach English as a foreign language. I found that the word limit on assignments constrained my ability to answer the question, with me gaving to cut out 100+ words from my original drafts each time. The only other thing I would mention is that when working on a laptop, you are unable to change the speed of lessons e.g. to 2x speed. Many students with ADHD struggle to listen to videos or in person conversations when they are spoken at a slow pace so may find this difficult within the course. I have receommended this course to a few people and some of their first questions were about this ability to speed up the videos, with some being put off from doing the course due to this. All in all, I really enjoyed the course!”

“The TEFL org is such a great company. They supply you with lots of Knowledge so that you are ready to teach English abroad. The coursework is easy to navigate. The in person classroom was brilliant. Meryl really explained everything thoroughly and even though I was really nervous to deliver my tefl lesson, I felt at ease and I knew what to deliver. Not only to they prepare you to teach English but they give you helpful websites, booklet with everything you need, where to look for jobs, interview questions and how to cater your cv to the jobs you’re applying for. “The course was okay. I passed easily enough. My main frustrations with the course: 1. The website is glitchy. Takes ages to load regardless of browser and internet connection. Page constantly redirects to other part so site. 2. Course content generic and not very interesting. Same with tutor feedback on assignments - they give vague stock answers. 3. Really expensive product. What I liked about the course: 1. Easy to pass 2. Tutors mark assignments promptly.”

“The video instruction was very practical and informative. Having one person assigned to look over my assignments and answer any questions was also good. The only module that was not current was the telephone teaching course. There are many newer technologies now that need to be included. Perhaps in the future add a course on teaching phonetics and perhaps one on teaching people with little to no English.”
