“The material taught in the course is very valuable and I have learned many things while taking this course. However, my interactions with my mentor were very annoying. Every time I submitted an assignment to be graded, I would see a pop-up message that said something along the lines of "Your assignment will be graded within 48 hours excluding bank holidays." This was rarely the case. Not only did my mentor fail to grade multiple assignments within 48 hours, but it felt like they would wait until the 48th hour to START grading even the smallest assignments. I finished the great majority of the content of the course within one week and spent TWO WEEKS just waiting on my mentor for days on end. I wanted to get this certification done before an application deadline, but I only got this certification several hours AFTER the submission deadline because this mentor took almost FOUR DAYS to grade my final assignments (and there were ZERO bank holidays). To sum up this course experience: The actual course was great! My mentor was HORRIBLE.”

“I found the course to be very helpful in my journey to teach English. I enjoyed how it provided guidance on how to teach English in a number of settings. The fact that I could complete the course at my own pace was hugely beneficial to me and I found that I could manage my own time very effectively because of this. However, I grew frustrated with my tutor for not providing very effective feedback and just providing examples on how to rewrite specific sections of one of my assignments, rather than telling me how I can improve.”

“Overall, the 120-hour certification course is a good program. It is by far better than all of the methodology courses I took when I earned my BA in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Teaching English as a Second or Other Language. They left us hanging and completely dependent on our student teaching for everything your TEFL program teaches through videos and instruction. I was grateful to finally learn by watching your tutors teaching classes everything my alma mater didn't teach. With that being said and to reiterate what I said in my feedback for each of the four courses, many of your methods videos and instructional videos throughout the courses need to be updated. They were filmed in 2017, in just a few months it'll be 2024. As I've also said, you have one tutor, whose name is Dee, with an American accent. Her videos for me, were impossible to watch due to irritating voice inflections, body language, hand-gesturing choices, weird long pauses in her delivery, head snapping, and neck jerking to flip her bangs out of the way. I had to move her videos up off the screen so that I could read the transcript while she read. In a nutshell, you need new videos. Otherwise, I learned a lot and plan to enroll in the 40-hour Advanced Online Teaching course. If it wasn't for the old videos, I would have given you 5 stars.”

“While the aim is wonderful, the content is a bit dry and somewhat inflexible. The videos about the PPP method seemed to contradict themselves: one video used the chain story, if I recall correctly, to illustrate the production part. However, a few videos on, it indicated that was incorrect. That was the practice stage. There also seemed to be a mismatch between the videos and the expectations of the instructor, which led me to quoting directly from the videos to justify my particular responses. It felt as if the films and the instructor weren't entirely on the same page.”

“Really easy course to follow, works with whatever your schedule is. Each module was informative and well taught, with quizzes assingments that checked your learning effectively, although sometimes written assignments lacked guidance. Overall though really happy with the course”

“This course is a fantastic foundation for teaching EFL. It prepares you for many different scenarios and covers a broad range of topics. It's jam-packed with content that you can refer back to time and time again. “The lady lecturer seemed to just be reading and didn't always know what she was saying in the grammar lectures. Some examples weren't correct. In the methodology lectures, I think, there was one example video with the Scottish teacher and the debate topic was 'are women or men better drivers' - it kind of seemed dated - 1990's, sexist. The online teaching course didn't really give much to someone who's already gone through teacher's college or TEFL. It's kind of common sense, if you've ever taught online, and not a lot in the way of business tips, marketing, etc., which is what a seasoned teacher really needs to make the transition to online. Overall, the course was a good review of some of the topics covered when I was in teacher's college.”

“Overall, I felt the course was really good. Some stuff is outdated and should be upgraded. I would like to see more Zoom class time, not just two weekends, as I found those very interactive, and informative, and gave students hands-on practice in delivering a lesson plan.”
