“I enjoyed watching the skillful teachers in action. I am a veteran teacher with 60 credits beyond my master's in education and started off thinking I wouldn't learn very much. I was wrong. I learned many strategies to help my ESL teaching. I felt that some of the assignments were busy work, and also felt that at times they were too fussy about using your hard-core template to write lesson plans etc. I tried to think outside the TEFL box a few times and quickly learned that I was not invited to do so. It's OK - what you gave me I needed and I am grateful.”

“I found the TEFL.Org online training very interesting, full of useful tips and hands-on advice for teaching English as a Foreign Language. Even though I primarily teach adults online, on a one-on-one basis, I found the trainings on how to work with classroom-size and large groups very interesting. I was just bummed that I didn't pass the training in time and had to buy an extra week, as I submitted my final assignment on the day prior to the deadline, but I understand that this is my own fault.”

“The course was great. The self-paced format made it easy to complete with my crazy schedule. Some of the videos could have used better audio, but as long as it’s done in a quiet place, it’s okay. All of the feedback from the tutor was super helpful. I feel like I have a great foundation now to go out and teach English abroad and I’m so excited!”

“I really enjoyed the course and feel that I have learnt so much. It was well structured and the possibility to observe expert teachers teaching in the videos was particularly helpful. Having a personal tutor to mark assignments and give feedback was really good as this was a way I could be sure that I had understood what I had studied. I now feel much better prepared to teach English to my Italian students. I think the students will be happy as well!”

“I felt that the videos explaining each methodology could be more in depth. A lot of the time I would take into account the feedback on my written assignment and then I would submit it again with different feedback. If the feedback is given all together it would have been easier to complete the assignments. One feedback said I was over the world limit and that was it, I submitted it with a reduction in the words and then I had a whole new list of things I had to complete with new feedback. That was a bit confusing. It would be nice if you could hold face to face sessions with instructors to get to know them and at least have them on email if you have any questions.”

“I would change two things in this course: The introduction videos are not necessary as they are very short but do take quite a significant amount of time especially with the wrapping up with the logo at the end. If the student ends the video before it is finished (to skip the logo closing) it counts as not having been watched and that can slow down the studuying especially if the student is pressed for time. The second issue is frequently mentioning that something seems difficult but will be mastered eventually. This may seem like a good way to motivate those who seem overwhelmed but if said too many times, some students may feel underestimated, especially if they did not feel overwhelmed in the first place.”

“I learned a lot about grammar and teaching methodology, but the videos were a bit dated, and the telephone teaching course should really incorporate more content about zoom. I would have preferred to have more short assignments of 120 words and fewer longer assignments of 600 words. I would also contend that the feedback I received for the final assignment in the teaching methodology course should not have resulted in the need for a retake. I followed the S-S, P/W etc. format as detailed in the instructions, but my tutor preferred it formatted slightly differently. The main part that allegedly fell below standards was only 1/5 of the assignment. I had not had to retake any part of the course until then, and it was a sour way to end my TEFL experience. Overall, I learned a lot and cannot wait to put my TEFL skills to use, but having to retake the final assignment does not sit well.”

“The 120 Hour Premier TEFL class was well organized, full of information; a thorough training in the required information for teaching English and the methodology needed to set up and run English language lessons. After completing the course one feels prepared to start teaching English as a foreign language.”
