Purchased a keyring/necklace tracker for my husband who has dementia. Having used it for around 10 days I decided that he would be better with the waterproof tracker. I phoned TechSilver and explained the situation. An exchange was easily arranged and a couple of questions answered immediately. I have already used the tracker when my husband got lost on a walk and this gives me more peace of mind and him more independence.

Bought a tracker for my mum which has been an absolute god-send! We can keep an eye on her movements as she goes about her day and the app let's us know when if she leaves home when she shouldn't. It's given her more independence and gives my sister's and I peace of mind to sleep at night!

Bought a personal tracker for my wife who has dementia. Mostly excellent customer service. Tracker looks great quality and is waterproof. However: Very expensive: the £164 is cheap but £15 per month for connection to mobile network. I only pay £10 pcm for my SIM only mobile contract! This is clearly aimed at rich people to whom money is less of a concern. Also, the idea that someone with dementia (generally) can easily hold a two way conversation with the device is a bit of a joke. My wife is only in the early stages but she kept frgetting to keep the button pressed for 3 seconds, held it (naturally) by the edges, thus blocking either the microphone or speaker or both, and when she couldn't qute hear properly, she pressed the button again, thus cutting us off. Even with an able bodied person a conversation is difficult with any sort of backgound noise. It isn't able to recognise an answerphone machine (like many phones) and so when dialing to the emergency contacts, stops at the first even if they don't answer (btw disabling your answerphone has to be done by your phone provider and so is semi-permanent). Only works on 2G so won't work in USA and many oher countries around the world (but Europe in OK). In the end I bought from GPS Bob, this tracker doesn't have two way conversation (just an sos button to one contact) but was only £230 and no other fee for 5 years and it works all over the world (2 and 4G). 5 years of TechSilver would cost £160 + £15 x 12 x 5 = £1,285! I really wanted to buy from TechSilver becasue they seemed nice and are local to me (Nottingham) but £230 versus £1,285 ....no-brainer!!!! I said mostly good customer service because Aron was brilliant until I said I wanted to return the tracker and then he clearly didn't want to know me, and even though I reminded him that I paid £10 extra for a lanyard, this £10 wasn't refunded (and btw, I thought £10 for a cotton lanyard was a bit mean). A very well thought out piece of kit! My dad (86)has dementia and can't cope with a mobile phone and gets lost, particularly in the dark. This device means we can track him, call him and he can call us in an emergency, all very simply. Added to his keyring, it is discreet and he automatically takes it with him when he picks up his keys. The way it recharges is also manageable for him and he can do it without removing from his keyring. The set up videos have been very helpful. Altogether a great device that's saved us alot of worry. Thank you.

We were unsure which pendant to get for our mother and the first one worked fine, but wasn't what we needed. There was no bother sending it back and getting a refund. The waterproof pendant we subsequently bought is perfect, does everything we need it to and our mother who is 92 can use it easily. The set up video is a great idea, rather than reading through long manuals. The staff were brilliant answering all our questions and keeping us in the loop. Thank you TechSilver team! We originally bought the pendant tracking device for my mother to replace another system that didn't work well. The device looks very neat but we were disappointed, as the battery drained rapidly so that it stopped working mid afternoon after an overnight recharge. It then stopped picking up my mother's location even when charged. The emergency call system is good & worked well but the button on the device is small and fiddly, difficult for my mother to use. The charging port is also small and awkward to use, especially if you are older or have arthritis. Techsilver were very easy to contact by phone and very helpful in response to the issues I raised. After some discussion they upgraded my mother's device to the larger waterproof version. This has a much easier to use charger, and the SOS button is clearly marked in red and easy to use. The charge lasts much longer & the tracker works well. I would recommend the waterproof version as an all round improvement over the smaller pendant.

The player itself looks really good and the preloaded music sounds great but it only takes MP3 files and they are quite hard to get hold of. Neither Audible nor iTunes have files that can be used. We could only find one source where we could buy any content and very little choice. We were intending on down loading short stories for my blind mother with dementia to listen to. The man in technical support at TechSilver was very nice but totally unhelpful. He had no suggestions on where to buy any nor made any effort to look into it and call me back. I called twice for help but apart from saying that he thought iTunes files could be converted but he didn’t know how, he really was neither technical nor supportive. 😂 sorry - nice product but the formatting is not ideal.
