“I had a terrible fear of water but I was jealous of people on holiday who were enjoying swimming in the sea so I decided to TRY and learn to swim. I took the “plunge” lol and booked a tester lesson. On my arrival I met my tutor a lovely lady called Slava. I told her of my total fear of water but by the end of the taster lesson Slava had me floating in the water moving my arms and legs in a swimming motion which I thought was unachievable.
I have now just had my 7th lesson and I can now swim but it is still work in progress. I have another 6 lesson and I get so excited when I am going for my lesson for two reasons. 1/ My tutor is absolutely fantastic but also a really lovely lady. 2/ My tutor has not only has taught me to swim but to enjoy the water.

“We chose SwimNow in the summer for intensive lessons for our 8 year old daughter, who was effectively a basic doggy paddle swimmer. Clare was fantastic with her from lesson one and encouraged her to have confidence and work really hard, giving her positive praise for her progress at every step. Clare got our daughter to a level where she could have joint lessons with our son from September and their progress since then has been phenomenal. Neither had done any stage badges or distance awards, last week they finished Stage 7 and got their 100m badges. Having had a nasty incident in a swimming pool when I was a teenager, I have lost all confidence in water but Clare is gradually getting my confidence back even though it’s though it’s a slow process.After 4 and a half months worth of lessons I can now go underwater but still struggle with taking my feet off the bottom of the pool. Clare is so much fun for the children, so they love the lessons, but she ensures they progress and learn at a very fast pace. She is patient and very kind, but strict enough when needed to make sure the children pay attention and learn the safety elements of swimming as well as the practicalities.
Her communication with parents is brilliant, yet her focus during lessons remains solely on the children and their requirements and development.
