“Overall Impression:
My journey with Strive began on Monday, June 9th, a program I was enrolled in by my jobcentre coach, Amanda. While I approached it with an initial eagerness, I also felt quite apprehensive, unsure of what the training would entail. In my opinion, the first few days were slow-paced, primarily consisting of conversational sessions with our Tutor, Jonathan. During this initial period, I seriously considered "jumping ship," as it felt like I was going backwards, having already covered many of the subjects in previous courses. This prompted me to contact my work coach, explaining that I truly needed more from the course! She promptly emailed back, encouraging me to complete the training, assuring me that there was much more to come. Well, perhaps she was right, and I rarely admit that I'm wrong! In fact, I was very wrong for even considering leaving. My time on the Civil Service course with Strive has been genuinely transformative. The more I got involved, the more my desire to learn grew. I honestly ended up investing my own time, completing a significant portion of the training independently, a fact that was even acknowledged by the tutor himself. I've since come to deeply appreciate this invaluable experience. The incredible support and encouragement I've received throughout this course have not only solidified my learning but have also pushed me to now actively explore other courses that Strive has available. The Tutors, Jonathan and Maria, both consistently offered their invaluable words of encouragement and provided glowing feedback on all my coursework, which truly made a difference.
Would I recommend it to others? Yes, in no uncertain terms, as I strongly believe this course would be invaluable for other learners who are contemplating training. It provides a unique environment for significant personal growth, fostering independent learning, and offering exceptional support from dedicated tutors who genuinely invest in your progress. This combination makes it an ideal choice for anyone looking to truly develop their skills and confidence, even if they start with initial reservations.

“The Business start-up course was an excellent way to learn all that is necessary for a new business owner or someone hoping to open a business. At first it doesn’t seem like there will be much to the program but as soon as it started the knowledge came pouring in and opened my eyes! “Overall it was a good experience and I'm glad I did it.
I found that the mock interview section was the most helpful part of the course.
I think it could've been condensed somewhat, as we finished early most days and often had an extended lunch break. Perhaps a 4 day course rather than 5 days, or starting at 10am rather than 9:30am.”

“Steve my tutor was really good he was professional and helpful and friendly too. The course was challenging but this was good because there was things I didn't know what I can improve on or what to do in the future.
