Careful if booking for a car less than 48 hours away. Read the fine print. They won't cancel your booking even a minute later after you pay. Horrible company!!!

In regards to our cancellation policy, we are very clear and transparent throughout our website, on all quotes and at every stage of the booking journey that you can cancel free of charge up until 48 hours of your car rental collection date and time. Any cancellation request that falls within 48 hours of your booked collection date and time, does mean that any upfront payment made on our website is non-refundable. We again advise of all of this information very clearly in your booking confirmation email as detailed below: Cancellation and Refund policy: You can cancel your booking for free anytime up until 48 hours before the rental start time. Car rental companies do not allow cancellations once within 48 hours of collection so no refunds for your car hire will be possible after this time. Hello Hardik, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and I am sorry that you felt the need to leave us one star. I can see that our online Customer Support team have explained to you the process and at what stage you chose to add our 'Essential Cover' insurance. At any point up until the rental collection date and time, you can cancel this additional insurance policy and we issue a full refund within 24 hours. In regards to our optional excess protection insurance, you would have had to select a tickbox, confirming that you wanted to add our 'Essential Cover' to your booking. We also breakdown the pricing and summarise exactly what is included in your booking, in terms of extras and any additional insurance selected throughout the booking journey and also on the payment page. It would be your responsibility as the customer, to review and check over all of this information and you did request to add insurance to your booking. As a result payment for this is taken at the time of the booking and by confirming your booking, you are accepted this. We do clearly advise of the excess amount in both the rental terms prior to booking and also confirm this in your booking confirmation email as detailed below: Cover Information Your rental includes Easirent's Relax Zero cover. This has reduced the size of the security deposit to £50 (plus fuel deposit) which will be held on your card when you collect your vehicle. With this cover there is no excess to pay on standard damage or theft claims. Hello Adam, I am sorry to hear of your disappointment that has resulted in you providing us with a negative review. After reviewing your enquiry, I can see that you booked a rental car through us but did not check to see if debit card was an available payment option. Unfortunately against your particular booking, debit cards are not an accepted payment type and this was both advised prior to making the booking and post booking in your booking confirmation email, as detailed in the information provided below: Collection Requirements When collecting your vehicle you'll be required to show the following: At time of pick-up, the following physical documentation issued in the main driver´s name must be presented at the rental desk: Reservation confirmation reference number (Voucher where applicable) Valid Passport/or ID card Valid Driving License Valid Credit Card in the same name as the driver license Fiscal Code (applicable for Italian customers with destination Italy) Credit card PIN CODE We do also provide a filter that allows you to select your required payment card type on our search results webpage. Our Customer Support team has looked into this and our payment processing system did try to process the payment using your original payment card but your bank had blocked this unfortunately. Please see the notification we received in our payment system: The customer's bank declined that payment, it directed Stripe to block future attempts. The reason we need to have this lead time built into both our system and the car rental providers systems is to ensure that the search results are as accurate and real time in terms of availability as possible. If we reduced this, there would be a risk that you go to make a booking and once the booking is confirmed with the rental company, the vehicle is no longer available. This is standard across the car rental industry as a whole and as a result you would not be able to book a car under this lead time on any other broker or car rental companies websites themselves. When making a booking on our website, we very clearly breakdown the payment required to secure the booking both prior to collecting the car and we also advise of any remaining car rental balance due on collection of the car at the rental desk. Furthermore, we also include a breakdown of any further payments if you have chosen to add our excess protection insurance or any extras. Please see this information below, that was also confirmed in your booking confirmation email: Payment: You've paid a total of $70.75 USD - a $7.45 deposit for your vehicle rental plus $63.3 for your additional cover. The balance of €178.2 EUR (excluding any extras) will be paid directly to autoUnion at the collection desk when you collect the vehicle. Extras All extras are paid for at the collection desk if they are not listed as included in the rental price Extra Quantity Price Additional Driver 1 Included When clicking 'confirm' booking, you are accepting the payment terms on our website. After reviewing what happened with our technical team, they advised that there were issues with the particular car rental provider system you were trying to book through on our website which meant that the car you were trying to book could not be confirmed from their end. The team did resolve these issues as quickly as possible as all booking failures are flagged to them automatically to rectify urgently. Hello Benjamin, I am sorry to hear that you experienced some browsing issues whilst on our website and also felt our prices were 'crazy'. This is the first time we have had any feedback on the website being slow, but I will certainly pass on your comments to our technical website team to look into at the time you made your booking. It may be worth checking your internet connection or the number of open applications whilst you were browsing on the website in case this was the reason behind the slow speeds you experienced? In regards to the pricing on our website, we aim to provide the best prices and options to our customers but ultimately the pricing is provided to us directly by the car rental companies and is reflective based on demand and supply at any given time and in any given location. The car rental companies are still operating with reduced fleets, and now that customer demand is returning with more people going on holiday and travelling, this demand is increasing prices unfortunately. Since you did still proceed to make a booking through us on the website, then I am assuming we were competitively priced against other brokers or car rental companies which is good to hear. Hello James, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review and I am sorry to hear that you were left feeling unhappy. I can see that you have been dealing with our online Customer Support team and you advised that your flight had been cancelled and requested that the car rental company kept the car for you for 4 days. We advised that at such short notice we would be unable to amend the booking and unfortunately, as detailed in Goldcars' late collection policy, provided both pre-booking and post-booking, they are unable to keep the car beyond 6 hours. Please see below: "Late Collection: For late collections within normal office hours, Goldcar will hold your car for 6 hours after the booked collection time. After 6 hours your vehicle may be given to someone else. If you are arriving at an airport and are late due to flight delays, Goldcar may keep the office open beyond normal hours if a valid flight number has been provided as part of your booking. Please note that even if you have provided a flight number, not all Airport locations are guaranteed to remain open past opening hours, but you are still advised to phone your collection office to check if your flight is delayed. Without a valid flight number or at any non-airport location, the branch will not remain open past normal hours unless you contact them and make a special arrangement." We did advise you of this and given you were unable to collect the car due to a flight cancellation, then you should be able to claim back the £7.18 GBP pre-payment deposit through your travel insurance company. I can since see that you had rebooked another car through us on our website for the 23rd July. The providers onsite do not want to take into account the reservation mde onsite. they cancel the contract and propose their own prices which are 4x the cost of the reservation made here. Finally, lots of time and money lost. absolutely to avoid

Booking was cancelled by car rental company after our flight was cancelled and unable to contact the car rental company. Stressfreecarrental didn’t provide our contact number to the car rental company which causing the communication gap. Furthermore, Stressfreecarrental didn’t give us the deposit back and excuse was that we didn’t contact Stressfreecarrental On Line at the time when our flight was cancelled by the flight company. However, we have tried to call the car rental company directly as that seems to be the fastest solution. Will never use this company in future.

I can see that you have been dealing with our online Customer Support Team over the last few weeks who have been investigating the situation to understand exactly what happened. Unfortunately, you did not contact us on the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email or on our website to advise us of your flight cancellation and since you did not provide us or the car rental company with a flight number, neither parties were aware that your flight was cancelled until you got in contact with us two days after you were originally meant to collect the car on the 27th June. As clearly detailed in the 'Late Collection' section in your booking confirmation email, if you do not provide a valid flight number and are unable to collect the car as a result of an issue such as a flight cancellation or delay, your booking is at risk of being marked as a 'no-show'. "Late Collection: Bargain ask that all customers who will be arriving later than scheduled give them a phone call, especially if you'll be more than a couple of hours late or arriving after normal closing time. (The above does not apply if you booked an out of hours collection time. The office will already know to remain open for you and we always include any fees that may have been charged for this in the price shown). You have not provided a flight number for this booking. If your flight is delayed, you risk the branch closing or your booking being classified as a no-show." Finally, Bargain Car Rental did email you on the 22nd of June (three days before your collection date of the 25th of June) to request that you complete a pre-check-in form, providing all of your details so in the event of any issues then they could speak to you directly. As part of this form, they do request you to provide a flight number and they would have done what they could to accommodate your situation. Unfortunately however, you did not respond to them and failed to complete the pre-check-in form. We did also provide the contract number for Bargain Car Rental on your booking confirmation under the car rental company details section. I am sorry that you felt the need to leave us a negative review based on what you felt was a poor experience, but this could have been avoided if you had provided us with a flight number, completed the pre-check-in customer form requested by Bargain Car Rental and also contacted us as soon as you were aware that your flight was cancelled and not two days after your collection date. I can see that you contacted our online Customer Support Team shortly after making the booking to advise that the details were incorrect and they advised what to do to rectify the issue. Please be advised that all the information provided on our website is added by you as the customer and unfortunately you must have selected the wrong collection and drop-off times since our default search times are 10:00 and you selected 00:00 for both. We do also ask that you input your age and there is also a tick box to verify and check that this age is correct. At this point, you can amend if incorrect and continue with the booking. Furthermore, we show the pick-up and drop-off times throughout the booking journey and confirm these on the payment page as well, again for you to check if this information is correct and amend if necessary. I am sorry that you felt the need to leave us a negative review but I can confirm that this was through no fault of our own and my recommendation going forward would be to check over all of your details before confirming and proceeding with any booking you may choose to make with us in the future.
