“The Sonarworks website is very easy to use, and their products generally have a very slick design. I had a bug once with SoundID Reference where the sound driver kept on crashing, so i had to restart it, but after the update it got fixed. So thats nice. I have no experience with the support centre yet, but i bet its great.”

“Unlike any of my other plugins, this needs an internet connection for license activation every 10 days or so. Solution - provide another option to customers to allow for offline use - dongle etc. If this is not an issue for you then you may find it a useful plugin.”

Hi, Thank you for reaching out! Our offline mechanism has been implemented this way to counter piracy. Unfortunately there is no workaround for the offline activation. “Absolutely useless. The company is unable to explain why there is an unbalance between the L/R channels when enabled. Furthermore, the software is causing some weird problem in the phase correlation and stereo image. I've sent a video explaining and documenting the problem to support, and nobody had been able to explain why it is happening or how to fix it. They also take many days to respond. Untruthworthy. How can anyone trust anything mixed or mastered through this software? Absolute bummer, as the technology seems impressive. Turned out is nothing more than snake oil.”

Hello, Thank you for reaching out! The left and right channels are measured independently and there could be nuances between both speakers that might cause the unbalance. I would double-check if there is any DSP feature built-in in the speakers themselves. If so, make sure to set it to the default values as they came from the factory - to their default values. The listening spot is a feature within SoundID Reference that accounts for the differences between monitors, disabling it could also improve the disbalance. If not, re-measuring and making sure that monitors are set the same should be worthwhile. Let us know if that helped!

“I discovered Sonarworks looking for the best "calibration" plugin tools for my headphones:I already owned a similar product from another company but I was looking for a different one which was compatible with my new Sennheiser 560S headphones. My only recommendation could be (if possible) to let new user have the possibility to experience the calibration software live by web app (some competitor do let have this possibility)”

“I've been using sound ID for about four weeks now. I use both headphones and monitors in a room that's not treated great. What was surprising to me was how my headphones and monitors are now way more similar sounding than they used to be. When I put up my first mix – I was hearing a distortion in my right ear. I thought there was a problem with the new headphones I had bought (AKG 712's), and that something was rattling. After some time and soloing lots of tracks, I tracked it down to a clipping plug-in that was crapping out. Listening through my headphones without sound ID – I could not even hear the problem. I have since mixed about four songs with this set up, and all of the decisions I've made gave very predictable results when I went and listened on other systems. I also bought the virtual monitoring add-on, and on one of my mixes, it really highlighted a bad resonance that I was not hearing previously. I really feel it was some of the best money spent.”

“It was nice to upgrade the version and get the extra lisences. Little bit hard to activate the program at first after the upgrade but managed after some time. It sometimes bugges with safari so I have to switch to chrome when streaming.”

“I started to invest to my project studio from the pandemic. Then I started to set up my monitoring system with Sonerworks Reference 4 Studio edition with mic and an individual calibrated HD 650 by you. This is how I believe your products. Now SoundID Reference is working fine in my system with your support. Also I won’t recommend it to my around until fixed up the issue however I’m really satisfied with it.”

“I had bought a pa ckage that did not have th testing microphone in error. When I reached out to see if I could getthe microphone at the discounted package price, they were quick to say no problem and help me with the updated transaction. I couldnt ask for anything more from customer service. The experience was top notch.”
