I bought a Windows 7 upgrade. The 1st mini programme supplied would not burn the download onto a USB stick or Disc as an iso file. I was supplied a 2nd mini programme which transferred the Windows 7 download onto a USB stick. I could not get my computer to boot from this. I gambled £13.99 and lost!

Bought windows 7 as I wanted to go back from windows 10, downloaded as per instructions, but could not install it, the existing system won,t let this happen. So I don’t know what to do, looks like I’ll have to stick with 10.

After Windows 7 loaded and setup concluded WiFi, Bluetooth, Networking, USB, etc., etc failed to work stating that the laptop contained no hardware compatible with proving those services. An email to Support received the answer that the laptop manufacturer would supply the device drivers; just how to load these into a laptop missing the means by which to achieve this was not stated. Result, a laptop now unuseable. ,

Hi Malcolm, You purchased an operating system which is 9 years old. You have a new laptop. It's normal that the operating system will not contain drivers for new hardware. You must download them from your machine's manufacturer. We cannot provide these for you. Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks

Appeared to be a product key that had previously been used on another device. It looked like it has just been taken off a device that was shut down and was not a new key that could be used.

The problem with requesting help for a installation problem is not that you do not get a reply it is in the nature of the reply. Each time I have asked for installation assistance due to my computer showing an error, all I got was an email directing me to a download site. One such time I asked for help because of an error showing on installation, I got an email directing me to a site to download my software again in the form of an ISO file, no explanation on how to use it or why. If you are new to computers you might not know what ISO file is or how to use it

Accidentally bought two copies of windows which was an error that could not be undone even though I flagged it instantly. Still it's a cheap price so that's a consolation. Yet to try to install. The MS download is v slow.

Downloaded product key exactly as per instructions. It was not accepted by Microsoft. So I had to phone Microsoft and explain the situation to them. They were very professional and courteous in explaining how to activate my computer. I followed their instructions while they kindly waited on the phone and my computer was quickly activated. I did double check the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014 wherin I found that once a software product is downloaded the consumer cannot claim a refund. It would seem that the product key that you sold me was not valid and in downloding the product I am unable to claim a refund. In the light of my experience with this product I would suggest that if consumers have a problem with activating a computer then they firstly telephone Microsoft to get the assistance required at no cost. I hope Software Geeks will take my comments on board and contact me with a view to giving me a refund.

Dear Brian, We replied to your email on how to activate your purchased Windows 7 license. We received no reply. There are only two ways to activate, and both are explained in detail within the instructions. Microsoft cannot provide another method of activation. Since the license is completely valid and activates, we're dumbfounded as to why you would expect a refund? Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks

I purchased Windows 10 so I could install it on my Vista laptop. After contacting software geeks on more than one occasion as I was struggling to download the product following the instructions. I have had no response after the last instruction more than a week ago. I've now had to ask for help from a third party to get the product downloaded and installed. Unfortunately I now have no Ethernet or WiFi connection so still can't use the product. After care should be a priority with any electronic product unfortunately on this occasion and for me it doesn't seem to be.

Windows 10 key errored as 'already used' required a phone call to Microsoft reading out very long numbers. Not confident about this key to be honest.

I was able to receive the product I wanted to full satisfaction, the only problem is that once downloading Windows 1 through bootcamp, I was dismayed to find that the product key became invalid. I am still linked into the Windows side, the only problem is that when asked to update, it says it is not possible as the product key is out of date.

Hi, Windows would never report that a product key is "out of date", ever. The error message does not exist. This would be a local issue. If you're having issues with your install via Bootcamp, why not get in touch with us, instead of writing a negative review? We have received zero contact from yourself? Please contact us to get the help you require. Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks

The Product Key didn't work and was unable to activate Win 10 Pro. Every time I tried putting the Softwaregeeks key in, the laptop said Win 10 Pro Education was now installed and unable to activate as the key was already in use! Support was received via e-mail, but both e-mails failed to resolve the issue. Nothing has been heard from Softwaregeeks for a while since the last e-mail and so, after 12 days since purchased, I decided to buy a Product Key from another retailer. (at a third of the price paid to softwaregeeks). I typed the new product key in and Win 10 Pro activated straightaway! Softwaregeeks have been good in the past, but sorry guys, only two stars on this occasion!

Dear Laurian, Instructions are sent AUTOMATICALLY with EVERY purchase by the system. It's likely that you did not read the email properly. That being said, if you had contacted us, we could have resent them. Your husband is not "teccy" if it took him hours to perform a Windows installation. We do not create Windows, Microsoft do. You simply purchased a license from ourselves. Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks
