The sofware and key would not be accepted by Microsoft and when contacting software geeks to help no one was available to help. The matte was eventually resolved thanks to the help of Microsoft customer service team. 5 stars to Microsoft and the fact I could download the software from your site I have given you 2 stars. Your support services though would get no stars as they were not there for me

Hi Alan, You contacted us on a Sunday and we replied within 12 hours. You did not reply to our reply. If the issue was resolved by MS then there was no issue with the key. Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks

While follow-up customer service was quick and polite, the advertising was not clear. I needed a Mac version of Office, did a Google search for "microsoft office Mac 2010" and followed the very first link that came up. Everything looked good, and there was nothing on the page to indicate it was not a product for Mac. Only after purchase did I receive links for a 32-bit or 64-bit install, which is of course for a Windows installation. Again, customer service was prompt and clear that there could be no refund or replacement. Thus two stars instead of one. My objection is there should be a clear description about compatibility on the product page, given that the page is configured such that it came up number 1 in the Google search. It is reasonable to assume that the top google hit for a specific search will be for the product that was searched for.

When I asked for advise I was treated in an off hand manner. The instructions provided did not show any illustrations. If something happened that was not on the instruction list no help was provided. I managed to sort the issues out by looking on the internet and solving the problems encountered. I wrongly believed software-geeks would know about the issues I experienced but they appear not to. It must be because no one is providing feedback or software-geeks are not listening either way it's very poor customer service. If they do know about the issues but just can't be bothered to help then that's bad too. I got help from the internet which provided illustrations and youtube videos. I found outlook was missing on windows 7, I had it with Vista, and automatic updates did not work but sorted that via the net too. Shame that software-geeks have no customer service, so grateful to those people on the net. I'm glad it is only software-geeks that make you rely on the net otherwise no one would buy anything on the internet. They have a very short sighted approach, but I guess I should have know that from the company logo. (Sorry just couldn't resist). Sense of humour still intact but patience worn.

Hi Roger, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We apologise if you believe we came across in a "off hand manner". In response to your comments, I've taken a look at the 5 online chats you had with ourselves and you're only telling half of a story here. I found the following: You state that the instructions are inadequate and don't provide illustrations. We provide STEP-BY-STEP instructions on how to install Windows with each purchase, no step is missed. It's impossible for the instructions to be more detailed than what they are. You state that we "can't be bothered" to help, when in fact, we could state that you yourself "couldn't be bothered" to read the instructions you claim aren't helpful, since you completely ignored them and tried to do what you thought was correct, which wasn't. We pointed you in the right direction to get Windows installed. You yourself even came back to us to state that you now have Windows installed (after the 4 previous chats (2+ hours in total) providing you with the help you required, (because you didn't read the instructions)). You stated that there were drivers missing from your Windows 7 install, we advised that you would have to download any missing drivers from your machine manufacturer's website, since Windows 7 is 9 years old and doesn't contain every driver known to man. You state that "Outlook was missing on Windows 7, but was there on Vista" - Outlook is a COMPLETE seperate package to Windows. ANY installation of Windows does not contain Outlook or Microsoft Office. This is a seperate purchase completely, unrelated to Windows. We appreciate your comments and will take them on-board, but we feel that your review is worded very differently to what you actually done/what happened. We're sure you'd agree. I have bought lots of licences from you before and recommended you to several people who have bought licences. On this occasion the activation didn't work and I got a curt reply to activate by phone. As I wear hearing aids I had to get my 12 year old to speak to the Microsoft call centre over their rubbish ip phone system. We had 4 goes at it. So thank you software geeks for that experience, you've lost a loyal customer.

Hi Antony, We have no control over this. It's at Microsoft's discretion whether a license activates online, or requires phone activation. We didn't make the decision requiring you to activate per phone. There's also text service you can use which is stated at the beginning of the phone call, should you be hard of hearing. HI Jonathan, We did not receive a reply to our email dated 30/03/2017. Windows Updates not working when attempting to upgrade to Windows 7 from Vista is caused by Windows Updates not working in Vista itself, on your local machine. We sent over links on how to repair Windows Updates so that you could upgrade. Why not reply to the email and obtain the help you require? Kind Regards, Softwaregeeks

I was unable to use it. There is no telephone support, even the live chat is not avaiable when needed.

We purchased the wrong windows for what we wanted , the item was totally unused . We thought it was an internet download, NOT , something we would have to put on a memory card ect and then download. We are NOT internet geeks . Asked for a refund .....refused .

Dear Edward, As explained in numerous emails, you purchased a LICENSE key from ourselves. The software/download links are direct via Microsoft's website. We cannot disregard our returns policy and/or change the fact that you did not want to purchase a USB stick to install Windows from, this isn't something we have control over. Tried to follow instructions sent, but screen appearance differed from what was described. Tried calling for help only to be told you only communicate online. After several nights and numerous attempts I had to call in a computer consultant to download programme for me at an additional cost

Hi Chris, The software is direct from Microsoft. The instructions provided show screenshots within Windows setup. We do not offer phone support, nor claim to do so before you order, so we cannot miraculously provide phone support when you request. A computer consultant is not required to install Windows. Could not download windows 10. Emailed asking for disc to be sent and asked a few questions about the install. The reply did not answer any of the questions I asked, only said they do not supply discs!

Dear Violet, You emailed stating that you were having issues with the download. We replied with the instructions and download links (direct from Microsoft) and heard nothing back. Now you leave a negative review. We do not sell Windows on disc, however we did not simply reply stating "we don't sell discs" as your insinuating. The software supplied was specific to dell PC,as drivers for my HP PC would not download,rendering the £10 cost of your item a waste of money as I cannot use it.

HI Mike, There is no such thing as "windows 7 dell specific". Windows contains generic drivers for all computer brands. If you're missing a driver, you would simply download this from the HP website.
