“i ordered my Lantern OpenView back in August, i spoke to Steve who was very helpful in advising me which blind would be suitable and i am very happy with my purchase, although i do not agree that a fairly large blind is a diy job and should have the option for a fitter to measure and fit if required by the customer. i experienced wrong measurements on my part, thankfully Naiomi was so helpful and resolved the problem efficiently a special thanks to the fitter and thank you Steve and Naiomi for your help and support.”

“We ordered a Lanternlight honeycomb, electric, 3m x 1.8m, back in May 2023. Ordering was very easy, we had a couple of queries, quickly and expertly answered. Delivery was in line with the estimated dates provided when we ordered. Once delivered, putting it all together was a bit fiddly, but do-able, using the supplied instructions and YouTube links for guidance. (The written instructions covered most things but the fiddly stuff was lot clearer watching it done on the screen!). We did have a problem with programming the motor, but Naomi was brilliant (and patient) in getting to the bottom of it and quickly providing a replacement motor once we'd worked out what was needed. The blind's now been up several weeks (I like to wait a few weeks before posting a review) and we're very happy with it. All working well, looks good, and it does seem to make a difference to the warmth of the room in the evening. So a 5 review for everything except the slight problems with the product as delivered, even though we can't fault the effort in successfully resolving the issues. Thanks Skylight! We would happily buy another one from you.”

“Don't use the website to order a lantern blind, as it will ask for the agreed price, which you can only get by phoning them. There might also be a MUCH cheaper option, as in our case. Would have saved me some time chasing the order if they said upfront that the lead time for production is 5 weeks. Arrived safely and all pieces present. No installation instructions though - watch the video on the website. On which note, it is nowhere near as straightforward to install as the video suggests. The only way to get the unit and the other (tensioned) end into the clips on the rails appears to be to unscrew them and move the brackets up. Otherwise, you cannot get the bottom of the bracket into the groove, before 'moderate' force is needed to bang the unit and tension end home. The chap in the video did this first time, in about 2 minutes. It took me 2 days!! Tip - feed 2 pieces of string through the wiring holes before securing the blind mechanism, so that you can tie the wires to them and pull through. The spindle in the blind is right in the way and you'll unlikely get the wires hidden unless you do this. Now it's installed and working, I'm really pleased with it. I would however, say that this is a job for an advanced DIY-er or professional. I have really struggled to install it, despite the video (which makes it look much easier than it actually is). Probably more difficult in settings with flat, rather than apex, lanterns (as in my case). Hence 4 stars out of 5.”
