Hi Dennis I am so glad your blind is up and running now.
Ordered it a few weeks ago. No contact made regarding any delay. I contacted them and in fairness an apology was then sent. A delay of a few weeks has been anticipated. So no delivery, no blind and nothing to review so seems a bit odd to ask for a review with nothing here.

Blinds, when closed, leave a gap that lets light seep through. Temporary workaround was adding tape across the bottom (next to the handle where light seeps through), however over time the tape wears out so falls off and light seeps through again. I brought 2 different size blinds for the balio windows, both have the same issue.

Hi Mahin, sorry to hear this (if you would have contacted customer services we would have told you the trouble shooting for this problem. Please see below and I have also sent you some documents and videos to help with this). It looks like the handle has not been pulled down enough. Can you untighten the side rails by 1 turn? If the side rails are over tightened, the teeth on the brakes and the teeth on the back of the foot won't lock into each other and so the blind won't close. Check to see if the cassette is fitted correctly and loosen the screws on the feet by a turn to see if this allows the teeth inter-lock with each other. If there is a gap at the bottom, if they place a finger at the end of each handle and push down and listen for a click this is the brake interlocking with the foot. thanks Naomi
although it was easy to fit the quality is poor, the blind ripples and it is difficult to operate, so i wouldn't recommend unfortunately

The blind itself is ok however the instructions included are useless. Your website states that there are instructional videos on you tube however these are for blinds for windows and not a flat roof skylight. What should have taken 20 minutes to fit took over 3 hours . Not impressed.

Service and ordering fine, blinds have arrived and they have ripples through them and don't close tight so there is a crack that let's light through. Not worth the slight discount in price wish we got velux

The blind arrived quite quickly. But after fitting does not run smoothly. After calling the company was told wld be rung back by technical. Nothing yet, just a suggested vidio to watch!! After requesting to SPEAK to someone.

Hi Elizabeth I think that the customer services team wanted you to try the trouble shooting video before anyone from technical got involved. As trouble shooting is always the first step.
Nice blind but the fitting instructions were impossible. As an engineer I would say that this blind is in no way a DIY blind.

Sorry to hear that. I am glad you got it fitted and we have sold several hundreds of these blinds as DIY products.
Installation of the blind was a pain. The connections for the frame and the side rail blind driving pins were not very tight and kept coming out. The frame appears to be mainly held together by the tension of the driving cord. When moving the frame it is easy for it to separate enough for one of the motor shafts to disengage. When first assembled the blind only moved about 30cm. Fixing this may have been covered in the "Motor Setting Manual" but this is difficult to make sense of. In the end I drove the motor until it stopped before installing the drive shafts and this worked. On a positive note the people that I dealt with in the UK were very professional. It was not however made clear until after order that the main blinds are in fact manufactured in Dubai! The installed blind looks good and I hope that it lasts

Thanks Iain sorry this installation wasn't straight forward and I am glad the blind is working fine now. Our Honeycomb Openview blind is made in Dubai but all customer services is in the UK.
Been asked to review. Can't do that until they arrive. Website said 6 weeks which is now 9 weeks. Don't bother unless you want to wait ages

So sorry about this experience the solar skylight blinds went up because of supply chain issues I am so sorry it affected your order
The manufacturing tolerance was too exact. It may be that my wooden windows of some age had swollen or had not been manufactured to the exact size? However, I had to cut off approx 5mm of the aluminium frame to fit the windows. The actual blind runners were tight due to the frame being too exact.

Hi Wendy so sorry but our customers like blinds to be made exact so sorry about that but it is something that we pride ourself on.
The blind ordered from Skylight Blinds appears to be available from the manufacturers (Bloc Blinds) for under half the price. I don't mind companies making a profit but this seems excessive. I will be using review sites to advise buyers to check the price from the manufacturer before ordering from Skylight Blinds.

I ordered 3 blackout blinds, delivery was prompt. They were very easy to fit with clear instructions. However, when closing the blinds they leave a gap of 2-3mm at the bottom which let's in a shaft of light & completely negates the blackout element of the blinds (this is present on all 3!). Also, one of them does not sit square when closed, I have refitted it countless times but cannot overcome this problem. I will not be purchasing these blinds again, spend a little more & get better quality.

The main problem was and still is a wrinkling of the blind edges when raising and lowering

The instructions were poor, the blinds were hard to fit, and I ended up damaging the frame. I've now had to replace the windows.
