“Purchased two blinds for Velux windows several months ago. Although the top of the windows is 3m high, the blinds were easily fitted using a screwdriver and some tall stepladders. Using a pole the blinds are easy to operate. Excellent product and speedy delivery.”

“Having had single storey build with a large lantern fitted I was very happy to find skylight blinds offer a diy supply only fit. This was one of my best purchases from start to finish . From having a boiling hot room in summer to now a cool room with no glare once the blind is closed ,great now for watching television . On a cold day the blind keeps the heat in , which has made a significant difference from being open 👍 Being a diy fit I was a bit nervous about installing the blind , but I needed not worry with the help of the sales team and most of all the YouTube videos was a extremely helpful. I bought a pocket laser measure for the measuring of the opening which was so much more precise and than a tape measure due to the sagging over the length of the opening , I had a difference of 5mm so it a perfect fit worth the small investment to get this right . Guests love our extension and are really impressed with the blind . I was horrified how much companies are charging to have these sort of blinds fitted so diy fit was perfect for me and I saved a lot of money too. I went for the solar powered option which works great Overall skylight blinds have been excellent I could recommend them enough .”

“A wireless, remotely controlled, insulating DIY blind for a skylight lantern ceiling, seems like a very good idea. This product is well-engineered with good customer service but it arrived with the blind incorrectly fitted into the cassette and a hexagonal drive shaft 2cm too short. This required two separate installation sessions using a tower platform to get it all working correctly. In the summer it shields bright sunlight well for TV viewing, and in winter stops a cold downdraft. On the downside, condensation above can lead to moisture dripping down and staining the blind and mould growing on the lantern itself. Flying insects need to be excluded from the room as when trapped above, their dead bodies are difficult to remove. In summary an ambitious DIY project with some unexpected complications.”
