“Not sure why I am supposed to only comment on what made me happy. Not really an 'honest review' is it? They were flexible when it came to having to re-quote due to changes in the number of boxes to be moved, although they re-quoted the same price initially and refused to budge on the price until I pointed out the number of boxes to be moved had gone down significantly. They then apologised for their error and resent a quote which was a lot cheaper. On the day, I only saw them at the new office, however the members of staff who were at the office we moved from were not impressed, saying the guys were slow, and they ended up doing a lot of the lifting/carrying and also had to fill their cars with stuff which didn't go in the lorry. I have ticked Acceptable because they did the most part of their job, but they wouldn't be first on my list of recommendations.... and I would be reluctant to use them again without having a more detailed explanation of what they would and would not do.”

“We were really happy with the whole service we received from Simon Long Removals - from the friendly and helpful lady on the phone, the very competitive quote we had and the guys on the day, who were really efficient, friendly and chilled (which helped to make us feel calmer!) Thank you!”

“Rather than pack items ourselves we chose the full packing service. The day before our removal two guys arrived with an enormous truck which the driver skillfully managed to reverse into our drive. They spent the day carefully packing all the items into boxes. They then returned the following day and carefully loaded the truck with all our belongings. By 2.00pm they had finished loading and drove the truck to our new home a half mile away. Then the unpacking began. My wife directed the team which by now had risen to six and they put the items where she wanted them to go. All were very polite and helpful and drank lots of tea and coffee.”

“Moved us to France, every thing packed perfectly no breakages, and the staff were so great as always.We have used Simon Long for several moves, once here to France and several times around the UK. We would recommend them as the best removals to use.”

“"Well, it has now been 2 months since our moving experience! Ample time to have reflected on it. We found the actual day proceeded fairly much as we had imagined it. It was a very hot day and I had a (not packed away) kettle and mugs etc.. ready for your chaps, whenever they wanted to avail themselves of liquid refreshment. Quite why one asked to put his cool flask into the unplugged fridge I don't know. but it made us quietly laugh. I'm sorry, but I can't remember all their names now except Thomas\/ Tomas, but how those two youngsters lifted the weights they did, in that heat, was exceptional.\r\nNo words of complaint from them, were heard by us, at any time. They had the patience of saints, politeness and a happy demeanour, which of course reaches through to everyone present in the end. The loader\/driver was super efficient and in control, from the depths of the van, at all times.... rather surprisingly.\r\nWhen their arrival was going to be delayed by approx. an hour, they had let us know. So that made us happy - more time to pack those last minute kitchen things. I swear they kept multiplying at the back of those deep cupboards! We know that now, as the cupboards HERE are definitely not!\r\nThe only criticism I have is that, in an unguarded moment, when there was a sound like something in drawer was tipping over and breaking, they remarked amusedly about it together. I heard them, and as it happened, I knew what it was, and it wasn't breaking. So didn't tell them that chance remarks are often heard by other ears. I mentioned it to the very pleasant gentleman who came to collect our empty boxes, so it might have filtered through to you already.\r\nI felt slightly put out, as you may remember, at having to pay the full amount before moving day. Obviously, I had not fully read your conditions. I appreciate the reasons why, but still felt aggrieved and slightly NOT trusted to pay punctually for a service, after the event, on the day of our move. We people being moved are often at a very vulnerable and highly sensitive time of their lives, so we react differently to normal. We hadn't moved for 23years!!!\r\n\r\nALL IN ALL, WELL DONE TO ALL INVOLVED AND THANKYOU FOR TAKING SUCH GOOD CARE OF US, AND OUR GOODS AND CHATTELS. Regards happily, Pat Dawson R.G.N. D.N. P.S. DOES anyone know THE WHEREABOUTS of two big feature wooden screws for the dressing table mirror? You probably told us the safe place you'd chosen, but we haven't found them yet."”

“I called Simon Long on the offchance to do a small flat move with very short notice recently. They were extremely helpful and fitted us in in the same week! The movers were friendly and helpful and gave advice about positioning of furniture at the other end. They were quick and nothing was too much trouble. There were no damages. Moving can be very stressful but having these guys helping really did lighten the load for us at a difficult time. We heartily recommend them.”

From the efficient ladies in the office to the hardworking guys who collect, deliver,carry up flights of stairs and set things up again, all the staff have been so pleasant to deal with. We have had a complicated move and they have handled it with great energy and efficiency. We recommend them highly.”
