“BUT we lost a box of ornaments!! This came out of one of the bedrooms but was eventually found rather precariously balanced on some shelves in the garage. This had been rather upsetting as, although of little monetary value, they were of great sentimental value”

“Overall the move went well. However (minor point) the 'surveyor' missed the volume of books we had and didn't supply enough smaller boxes. We didn't realise the movers wouldn't be using a cart, so filled the larger boxes and made them possibly too heavy. The movers still did it manually, but were a bit grumpy. I suggest talking to surveyors about this beforehand.”

“Quick and easy experience with Simon Long removals. They arrived early and ready to move. Assembled our two beds on arrival. Both movers were professional and sensitive to our needs and requests. We would certainly use them again.”

“I had used Simon Long for a previous removal, so they were my first choice when moving again. The packing service was excellent, though they did slightly underestimate the amount of 'stuff' I had, and they also packed anything that didn't move, which was amusing (finding dried teasels carefully wrapped!) The guys were very professional. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because one piece of furniture was dented, and I wasn't informed that I had to arrange disconnection of appliances.”

“The team arrived on time and were very efficient and worked in a clean manner with floor protectors laid as they came in the front door. They were very professional and even after a 2 hour journey to our new home they continued to work until the job was done at 5pm! We would recommend you to others. Thank you for making a stressful day run so smoothly.”

“The lads worked very hard all day during the packing and also during the removal the following days. Also they were very polite, helpful and friendly. They worked so efficiently that they packed things we should have kept aside as 'needed' but that was down to our inexperience at moving. Things arrived safe and sound and, apart from one issue with getting a bed into a room, all went smoothly with the unpacking. Overall an efficient job well done. Might be worth considering the option for people to pay for full insurance during transit as this was a risk we decided to take but other people may be put off by the minimal 'basic' insurance.”

“We asked for a two day removal, pick up on Thursday and delivery on Friday to avoid the stress of a one day move. All went well on the Thursday, 3 staff and they were great, really careful, polite and helpful but on Friday you sent only 2 men to unload a very full van. My 2 daughters and my husband and I had to help to unload. It was raining and although the staff were great and tried to get an extra person (1 man came for a couple of hours) we would have been there until dark if we had not pitched in. Bear in mind that all the garden and garage stuff comes off first and my girls wanted to make sure our beds were made and we were at least a bit straight for the night. To expect 2 men to unload a vehicle that size was unrealistic and not what we expected. The men you sent were fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful.”

“Two removals men turned up promptly on morning of removal. They packed the lorry very efficiently, but unfortunately, it was too small for the job. The estimator had underestimated our house, garden and garage contents. A van had to return from a job in London to pick up garden pots and garage contents. This did not delay the process in any way and instead of two men unloading we ended up with four. Extremely polite throughout.”

“I have used Simon Long 4 times now and will continue to do so, although I don't plan any more moves. I have and will continue to recommend them. I am a single woman and the service has always been good. I have one thought that would really make a massive difference to me; if the removal men were able to dismantle any furniture that didn't fit upstairs as has just happened to me and rebuild. I appreciate that there would be a cost for this but I was left with two wardrobes in my hallway which was a nightmare. Even if a call could be made to another team member to come to help. What a service that would be! I appreciate that there are time constraints and they usually have other jobs to go on to but if this was thought about I truly feel this additional service would be greatly used. My son has worked for Simon Long so I fully appreciate how hard these lads have to work. Fitting washing machines in would also help. Just an idea My last move was from my sold property into storage and then out of storage to my new home. On clearing the old house everything was 'stickered' and listed by box which I thought was excellent however I can't see the point of it as it isn't then checked back in - the lads don't have time. I signed the paperwork to say I had it all as I trust the company and plus the fact who would want my old toot! Overall, Simon Long do what it says on the tin!!”
