I also used their standard bike box, which is pretty solid itself and with the bike inside it's even more compact - their video about how to pack the bike could be also handy for a first timer. “Dreadful Experience
As a 1st time user I was not surprised to learn that SHERPR use 3rd party courier companies. Unfortunately the 3rd party courier company was DPD who subcontracted the work to a local company, FREJA in Denmark, which made it impossible to track. The delivery was delayed repeatedly, despite promised & missed dates. My customer was extremely annoyed by this, as it made it impossible to update him with progress and resulted in a disappointed client.
FREJA ended up contacting ME via email in Danish to ask what time I wanted the parcel delivered despite having the recipients full details, contact telephone number & e-mail address!!!
I understand that all of this was beyond SHERPR's direct control, but none-the-less they are ultimately responsible for using such an unreliable courier company. It would appear from conversations I had with SHERPR on the phone that DPD have been less than reliable with them on a number of occasions.
Based on my experience I would not use SHERPR again.”

“From start to finish this has been a functional, successful and well supported experience. 2 cycles from Arles, France to Leeds, UK. Sherpr advice on which box to choose was initially given, I went for the basic one which did the job perfectly and arrived without a blemish and will be good to use again a couple of times I'm sure. Packing and protection provided as great - I would advise putting a cap or foam over the end of the wheel axle as one of ours had poked through the side of the box on delivery but was totally undamaged (Skewer has been removed).
The whole service and support from Sherpr staff has been excellent on phone and email, they even rang me when they saw I had missed a home delivery.
