“First time trying shadowfoam, bought along with a halfords modular tool box to replace a worn out case on a 22 year old socket set. Its expensive for what it is, theres no getting around that, though it pretty much does what it says on the tin. Its more difficult that I thought it would be to separate the layers but like I say it does the job.”

“This is a great product. I got some for some Milwaukee Fuel cases and have made 1 up so far, a M12 battery case. Easy to use but secure, take your time and follow the instructions and you get a great finish. It is so much better and more versatile than the standard insert. Just the other 3 boxes to do now!”

“I had some DeWalt Tstak tool boxes I had bought for the bare unit tools I had. The order arrived on time and tracking information was available. So far I have done one box cutting around the shape of a reciprocating saw. Not the easiest of tasks to do unless you are patient. In the end the saw fitted snuggly in the cut out shape and held firmly by the foam. The foam was easy to cut and gives firm support. I also managed to cut out a shape to hold the holder for the saw blades. Looking at the videos is a must before starting. For my next cut out I might experiment taking a photocopy of the jig-saw to get the shape of it. I just have a feeling it would work better than trying to cut around the actual tool. With a fairly thick tool getting the cutter vertical and the tool not moving is where the patience comes in!”

“For me shadowfoam has changed my entire tool organisation system as it’s that good a product. Over the years I have had the pull off foam, plastic boards, trays, etc. now with shadow foam this is all changed. I’m planning to change my entire system to shadow foam based on just a single purchase of a foam twin pack I had ordered as a trial. So I ordered a twin pack for my dewalt tstak along with some foam spinners. The item shipped very quickly and arrive the next day. It was in a nice sturdy cardboard box with the shadowfoam logo. It did have some damage to the outer box but the foam itself was fine. The spinners were missing but after a few quick back and forth emails with the office I receive a rep comment set the next day. Awsome. So I got cracking and I was very pleased with the results. Not only does it look great it’s sturdy, hard wearing and easy to work with. Just like the you tube channel, that I didn’t sit up all night watching while waiting for my delivery, it’s as simple as they show you. Don’t get me wrong you can make mistakes but it’s very forgiving. I got to the end of my first case and I was very happy. It was 100 what I wanted because I wanted to get a feel for the foam etc so I got on with it then added the other items later but again this was just a trial. I had at the time my new toughsystem 2.0 rolling work station coming and the trial was to see if I wanted to use that on this. YES is all I’ll say. The foam looked great and solves all my OCD issues with such a simple yet innovative product. I definitely feel there is not even anything close to the quality of shadow foam including some of these other foam companies. Trust me I have went through them all and I would not use anything but shadow foam. The ease of working and the outstanding finish, even for someone with shaky hands like me, was amazing, other foams just can’t compete. Also there’s none of this having to cut to size nonsense, they offer inserts for nearly every type of protective case on the market and that’s not limited to tools cases. So before I orderd my latest order, I got an email from Jonathan, founder of shadow foam and it wasn’t a generic email, it was an email directly from him that you can reply back to him. He apologised despite the fact I never made a complaint because I know my postman, he’s probably damaged it and why the spinners were missing. Anyways he offered me a 15% off my next purchase. So I got to the site after thanking him and ordered 5 twin packs of various inserts to suit my system and the trays I had got for them, then I wanted the hot foam smoother, the stencil pack and also some glue just incase any small mistakes crop up. I plan to use shadow for me for 3 project I have in mind so far and more than likely even more after that so this is why I got all the accessories as this won’t just be a one off purchase. So all I’m doing now is waiting to get out of hospital ad my new shadowfoam order arrive so quickly after ordering I haven’t had the chance to open it up and get cracking with it. I also have a bathroom project lined up to do next so watch this space for my next review relating to another hobby of mines. Finishing up, if your on shadowfoam website, don’t order anywhere else, you’ll end up back here in the end getting shadow foam because all the other foam sites and plastic moulds will just lack that finish touch the shadow foam provides. I wish I had discovered shadow from a while back to save me ordering singles off all the other sites because I was genuinely disappointed with them all and why I continued to look for somewhere that would provide a product that they have as much pride in making as I have to using and presenting my tools with !! For some reason my picture won’t upload from my phone so I’ll update this after with my finished project.”

“Started with simple tools with a uniform depth to get used to cutting and peeling the foam. Now progressed on to trickier shaped tools and no issues at all. Very impressed with the product and deliver. Will definitely be purchasing more.”

“Shadow foam is easy to work with. With a little time and planning where you want things you will end up with great results. I can fit much more in my case due to been able to layer two sheets of shadow foam on top of each other. Very happy.”

“All great haven't had time too cut n shape yet very nervous of messing it up but will have a go the only thing you might consider for an improvement is to maybe include a extra piece of foam for a first time buyer for 1 practice cut too build confidence just a thought thinking you have off cuts maybe that can be put too good use .”
