The Shadow Foam concept should make for a great product but reality did not meet expectations.

Good product but I feel it is expensive for what it is, I purchased 2 x DS150 Dewalt inserts £30.00. The DS150 Dewalt case only cost me £21.00 so it seems expensive for the foam insert.

So it turned up within time, I ordered 2x 50mm thick dewalt inserts, both are only 40mm thick, so doesn't have the depth needed to hold my multi tool in securely. Easy to cut (I'm guessing it is called 50mm because a dewalt toughsystem case has slanted edges at the bottom, and the foam is not cut to accommodate these, so when you put it in it actually sits about 5-8mms off the actually case base. This caused the foam to sink into the gap pulling the edges up and inwards, making it less practical. I dis however pay for 2x 50mm thick pieces and relieved 2x 40mm thick pieces.

Hi Niall Really sorry to hear this and we'd definitely like to get this sorted for you - the foam does have a depth tolerance of +/- 5mm, so it definitely shouldn't be 40mm. Could you drop us an email at hello@shadowfoam.com and we'll see what we can get sorted for you? Thanks again for the feedback!

Bought what I thought was the Easypeel version off the website because it was constructed with layers just like on their promotional YouTube video. When I came to doing the easypeel bit, it ripped to bits so I threw it in the bin. Turns out there is no such thing as easypeel anymore despite the YouTube video continuing to show us all how easy it is to use.

Hi Andrew Thanks so much for the feedback, and just to clarify as discussed on email back early this month... Whilst we haven't called the product Easy Peel for some time now... it's the exactly the same product as used to be called Easy Peel. A couple of years ago we had two different grades of foam so to differentiate one was called Original and one called Easy Peel. Then, when Original was discontinued 18months ago the grade of foam formerly known as Easy Peel just became known as Shadow Foam for ease and as there was no need to differentiate it from anything else, so it's the same thing. I know you were concerned about the layers being glued together when we originally corresponded, which we confirmed isn't the case and tried to get you on the right track with your project by sharing guides on how to peel the foam with you since you were trying to peel on the layer point itself which is much harder. Hoped we'd been able to get you up and running with the project as the pictures you shared looked great. But you have our details if you want to get back in touch for more guidance and help with your project. Thanks again!

The shadow foam itself it very good. Be prepared to not have super flat levels but that's ok. I bought a lid cut for a nuprol case which didn't fit so had to cut it down myself. Not pleased with doing that considering it's suppose to fit. You need to change to a 4 axis cutter to get the bevel cuts

It's good for home use, but I personally next time will pay the extra to get CNC cut foam inlays.

Very nice product. I just don't think I can ever justify spending that much for this product ever again. There are similar products that are close to the same quality, but half the price. Thanks anyway.

All delivered TSTAK inserts have been too big. After inserting them I couldn’t close the box nor the trolley! Had to cut them again. The supposedly free cutting kit was declared with its full purchasing value and I did have to pay import taxes and VAT on it. The courier, DPD, has taken upon themselves to collect VAT and service fee for the entire delivery EVEN THOUGH I ASKED THAT "SELBSTVERZOLLER" be written on the parcel (address). I suggest you go with DHL for your deliveries, no longer DPD.

It was okay, but it took way too long to send the package. It did not arrive before Christmas while I ordered it at the beginning of December

The foam itself is excellent, easy to use and looks great - however, the case inserts I ordered for Milwaukee Packout small case do not fit, it needs trimming down at the front by nearly 10mm which is irritating tbh. I expected it to already fit without any fiddling. Secondly, it took a week for delivery. The website clearly stated expect delays so my fault, I should have ordered from Amazon. But, like it said at the start, the actual product is really quite excellent 🫣

I have bought the test packet and a voucher as as a Christmas gift for my husband. I haven't even opened the packet. I assume he'll like it as I wouldn't have bought it otherwise. Please stop hounding me for a review! I haven't a clue!

Hi there So sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the sample pack you ordered from us earlier last month. We no longer have the Shadow Foam Original sadly it was discontinued a little over a year ago as it was tougher for a lot of novices to cut and work with and also Polyurethane isn't widely recyclable and isn't really sustainable in terms of it's production. So it totally made sense to move to the new Shadow Foam which most people are loving, so sorry it's not for you though. The newer grade of foam would last you a lot longer too as it's much more durable and also cleanable. Hope you learn to love it in time. If you do decide to give it a try, don't forget the free £5 voucher you got in your sample pack can be redeemed against an order should you wish to place one. Thanks for your feedback though and do let us know if we can help more in future.

Not easy peel. Found all 8 sheets did not cleanly peel as a clean layer. Won’t buy again Watched the videos- cut down with sharpe new blade. Just seems the glue between the layers is stronger than the foam on the sheets I got sent Or it’s not as simple and as easy without lots of expensive practice.

Used the 50mm thick ShadowFoam for safe storage and carriage of my valued model railway stock. Marking and cutting the foam was easy but the removal of the unwanted foam was, imo, very difficult and time consuming. Maybe it was just me but not an easy product to work with. I will not consider it's use in the future.

When my order arrived one sheet of foam was missing; then I realised that they had supplied the wrong type of foam and then I discovered that they had supplied scalpel blades that were incompatible with the scalpel provided. All these issues were resolved by Customer Services and I am pleased with the end result. It was just a little frustrating getting there!
