“Staff are very friendly in my experience for my local one this last experience was really good as I had an eye problem which led me to have to goo to the hospital and the problem has be rectified I have been using scivens for the last 30 odd years”

“I was unwell last week and had to go to A&E with the sudden onset of blurred vision, the Doctor at the hospital wanted me to see an optician that day, I rang Scrivens in my small town of Fakenham in Norfolk to see if they could get me in, which I thought would be highly unlikely, they had a cancellation so slotted me in straight away, the two ladies in the shop were so helpful and so caring, the optician Henry was very thorough too, I’ve got eye pressure behind my left eye, the optician saw me again the next day to check them, as soon as I walked in the young ladies I saw the day before asked how I was, they made me feel relaxed and a valued customer, even though it was my first visit.”

“Janette at Stamford was exceptional at finding frames for my new glasses. It was not easy as I have very specific requirements. It took her several calls to the warehouse to find a frame which should be just right. All the team in Stamford are excellent.”

“I immediately felt at ease Paul who did my test was great made me feel at ease explained everything had a sense of humour I left the same day with my hearing aid and it has changed my life for the better .Lisa”

“The staff in Ringwood were efficient friendly and knowledgeable. There was no pressure applied for you to buy expensive frames, I was left to browse freely and the lady on duty just said “ if you need any help please just give me a call. The eye test was impressive it wasn’t hurried and I really felt strongly that they wanted to be sure that they would give you the right prescription for your needs. The test was thorough and they explained everything that they did to you and explained the results. The attention I received was very professional and helpful but still friendly.”

“I was unable to attend for my regular eye test until last week, the reception i received was so warm and cheerful was a tonic in these very unsure times, the staff were really helpful and I came away feeling great. A very enjoyable visit.”

“I was absolutely delighted with the service from initial contact when Phil answered my call to the warm and welcoming Shannon ( who frankly could teach high profile companies what proper customer care should be !) and then the amazing Shariffa the optician who has the skills to make you feel at ease - all is explained with clarity and openness - Shariffa is exceptionally skilled - will definitely recommend and husband has now been persuaded to go for much needed eye test !”

“From start to finish which was only four weeks ,I have received excellent service from the GP to the first appointment at Scrivens. The whole process was explained totally, I was made to feel at ease .Batteries have been sent in advance. Excellent service .thank you.”

“My elderly father had a hearing test on 18th October and still has heard nothing. Scrivens have no record of the test apparently. Shambolic service.”

“As soon as I walked in to Scrivens, I was greeted by Ben Ditchfield. He made me feel very welcome with his friendly professional approach. “Absolutely awful company. No one answers the phone. Consistently no staff if the shops. St ives in Huntingdon is NEVER open. Don’t think I’ll be coming here again.”

“I’ve been using Scrivens Tewkesbury for about 10 years but will be using a different optician from now on. Staff are rude and unhelpful and the shop is dusty and dirty. Whilst attending a different appointment I needed to give permission for information to be passed over the phone. Unfortunately the man who answered wasn’t able to find a referral letter and then gave false information which caused a great deal of concern. I went into the store in person and asked for a copy of the referral letter and abruptly and rudely was told to see my GP as they would have up to date information. I explained that it was actually the referral letter and date that I needed but the man continued to be very rude and grunted at me! You could visually see the dust on the counter and sides and bits all over the floor. As it turns out, the information he gave over the phone was completely incorrect! Seems like their staff give information about things they actually know nothing about and could do with some additional training. I’d be very wary to use the Tewkesbury branch again.”

“I visited the Scrivens branch in Clifton, Bristol, to have a hearing assessment and get advice about hearing aids. The branch staff were excellent, I was quickly and efficiently sorted out with an appointment. My assessment was professional, thorough and I was given sound advice on the best hearing aids for me. The aids came through quickly and within a week I am now sitting at home with hugely improved hearing. My wife is very pleased! Super impressed, thank you.”

“I cannot walk far and was so pleased and relieved that Scrivens was in our town centre and therefore easier for me to go to. Making an appointment was easy as well and the reception so kind and understanding. So was the audiologist and I felt I was in very good hands. I was well looked after with everything shown and explained to me as a laywoman having my very first hearing aid fit for me. Now I am coping well and being on my own I can manage well and at last I can understand what people are saying on television ie not seeing pictures only. Thank you all at East Grinstead for your kindness during a very difficult time for me.”

“I find Scrivens of Scrivens, Princess Victoria Street, Bristol, extremely reliable, efficient, quick to understand your personal situation & needs & if you are on a budget, Scrivens are very very affordable. Nina the Manageress, as well as being a consumate professional, has a genuinely friendly manner, a great sense of humour, & a real interest in people. Having an appointment there definitely brightens the day!”

“After being a NHS 'patient' for years I was transferred to Scrivens (with no choice). The hearing aids I was given have been useless - perpetually screeching despite return visit to Scrivens”

“I booked an appointment this autumn with Scrivens in Upper St Giles Street, Norwich and they have been completely brilliant. Judy McBride runs a strong team, she & all her staff are lovely, friendly, helpful & have a warm professional manner. I was advised by my optician to have varifocals and felt supported by Judy & her staff in trying them, and finding the right frames was fun as there was a plenty of choice in style & price. I highly recommend this particular branch of Scrivens as my experience of being their customer/patient has been perfect 10/10. Thank you.”
