“it was simple and easy to sell my car to a buyer, it was the buyer and collection that we had which was the problem told they would collect the car 29/05/24 waited in all day wasn't until 3.30 that they told us it wouldn't be collected, so rearranged for 03/06/24 they called at 8.30 am said that they wouldn't be coming I was on the phone asap, after several calls they got someone to collect my car, my money was in my account in less than 30 mins”

“I received a good price for my car, but it wasn't straightforward. I also find it frustrating that I was given an offer, which I turned down, because I had already started making other arrangements. Then the offer was increased... Just give me the proper price to start with! Collection from the garage was then being arranged directly between the garage and the sub-contractor employed by Scrap Car Comparison, but they turned up with a huge truck, so had to rearrange, but told me that the garage had refused to release the car to them due to outstanding changes - that wasn't true! The sub-contractor then also failed to contact the company after collection, so I had to chase my payment! It was sorted quickly, but it should all have been much smoother!”

“At the third time of trying my car was eventually collected. I was starting to lose all faith in this company, until I spoke with Cheryl at your head office. She sorted everything out in minutes, and was brilliant.”

“The guys on the phone are amazing and really helpful they kept me informed and turned up exactly when they said they were going to ! My only gripe was the company they got to pick the vehicle up wouldn’t let me take the diesel out of the motor before they put it on the lorry !”

“Very long process, got the name wrong so due to Data protection they couldn’t help me immediately. Price was low, 4 new tires worth more then offered. Was told the car was in better condition then price given, doubt I’ll see any of that.”

“The company responded very quickly to my enquiry to buy my old van, but was confused by attitude of company who purchased the van, BMS Salvage as they knocked £20 off the agreed price because one of the panels was slightly dented? 'ScrapCar' would give the impression that the vehicle was being scrapped, but BMS Salvage were buying it to sell it on after getting it working, and hence thought it was OK to haggle after the price had been agreed, on a scrap site. Ridiculous!!”

“The overall experience was positive and the goal achieved… getting rid of my vehicle. I give 3 stars and not 5 for the fact that at all times they were trying to lower the price of the vehicle. I was almost giving them the car for free and even so they kept making excuses to lower the price. Doesn’t seem fair to me. As I said goal was achieved (getting rid of my car).”

“First pick up couldn't find my address, second pick up a week later didn't turn up or rang to say wouldn't be coming,then week later said picking up on Wednesday didn't ,then picked up on the Thursday,so started poorly then improved.”

“Easy collection and money came in quick. I was under the impression that my car was being scrapped, I’ve since looked and the car has been put through an MOT and passed again. The car obviously has not been scrapped so it is disappointed I was wrongly advised.”

“The gentlemen l dealt with was professional but the lady who phoned to tell me about the company to pick up my car last Friday was very abrupt no customer service.l explained to her l live far from where the car is 30mines drive asked if it was possible for the driver to give me a ring an hour prior was told it can't he can only ring when 15minutes away really then what happened was called by the garage to say someone was already there to pick up my car and l was still in my house no phone call from the driver not sure if the lady communicated what l had asked.To cut story short lm impressed my money was in my bank at the said time .Thank you”

“Process was good but found it difficult to get the BMS post code to fill in the VRC/3 online The top 3 lines are my original review.. I wrote it before an email arrived with the post code. Since then I've had a phone call and 3 emails asking me to change it. It seems they only want positive feedback so I'd be wary of putting too much store into their ratings”

“The office was instructed to call us 30 minutes before he arrived pick the vehicle up that didn't happen so he was waiting for 30 minutes to pick the vehicle which left me rushing to get to him. The office failed to ask him to call us.”

“the vehicle uplifter didn't phone me and just uplifted the vehicle, demanding a signature from the farmer who's land it was on, but had no connection to the vehicle and I had to take time off work and spend £6 posting the documents recorded delivery...not quite the service I was promised. 3*”

“I DO NOT BELIEVE I RECEIVED A FAIR PRICE FOR MY CAR, AND THEY STILL ASK FOR A £1 DONATION TO CHARITY SO I RECEIVED £149.00 OTHER THAN THE SLIGHT DELAY IN PAYMENT, I HAD TO PHONE TO FIND OUT WHY THE DELAY, THEY DID SAY THERE WAS A SYSTEM FAILURE/ PROBLEM. OTHER THAN THOSE FEW ITEMS EVERYTHING ELSE WHEN SMOOTHLY, THE PICK WAS TIMELY AND THE INITIAL PAYMENT WAS PROMPT.”
