“I have always maintained a perfect credit score and always paid my bills on time for 20 years. When my partner didn’t get furlough when lockdown happened we had to rely on my credit card for 8 months for food etc. After catching covid last year his health took a serious turn for the worse and has been unable to work. Not having his second wage to help with bills meant it was starting make it very difficult to pay the bills. I turned to my bank, who I had banked with for nearly 20 years and had never defaulted with for a loan to pay off my credit card and personal loans and reduce my payments to have one payment instead of many through the month, they were completely unhelpful and turned me away. I then tried a second mortgage but they wanted £55000 interest to borrow £38000. That is just plain stupidity if I took that. It was just going to put me further in debt. A friend suggested talking to Scotland Debt Solutions but I was scared at first as I had a house and 2 cars I did not want to loose. In the end I felt I had no option but to try, I knew we did not have enough money to pay the next months bills and I could see miss payments happening. I am so very glad I did reach out and make that phone call. I found out that I could enter a DAS, Debt Arrangement Scheme, still keep my house and car and not have to declare myself bankrupt. My debt is now spread over 9 years instead of 4 but interest has been capped and the payments are much more affordable. Yes my credit score is badly affected but it was already affected with the amount of debt I had anyway. My Advisor Sharon dealt with everything and I didn’t need to call and deal with the banks and personal loan companies myself, I did have to call a couple who she couldn’t get in contact with but I explained to them that I was now entering a DAS and to put my account on hold. The weight that has been lifted off my shoulders is immense and after months of worry and sleepless nights I finally feel I can live and breath again. If you have mounting debts and can’t see a way out of it, there is a answer… make that call to Scotland Debt Solutions, there is help and you will get through this.”

“I came to David as wage arrestment had already taking place which I couldn't afford. I was apprehensive at first as I didn't know what I was going in to but knew I could afford the wage arrestment. I've had ongoing debt for years and only to this point did it start to get me down. After 1 phone call with David I felt at ease, he explained everything in detail (even after my million questions) he has always kept contact to let me know progress, what was needed next etc. There was no pressure to go ahead but after talking with David I knew I wanted to have him onside as he knows what he's talking about. For anyone that is in doubt, speak to David and you'll feel a weight lifted off your shoulders like I have. I cannot thank David enough for all his work and support, its meant to the world to me.”

“After speaking to them from the get go it was easy, there was no pressure no constant calling, unlike one big debt advice company (Won’t mention a name). They called when they said they would even out of hours away from work. And prying ears. They held no judgement. Even at the end they helped and with what to do next. Been a big stress as was leaving me in a minus each month from a deduction of earnings to pay rent. Thank you David for all your help. However do not take there word for it that they will contact everyone THEY WILL NOT, so if you have deduction of earnings or other they will still be there you have to contact everyone as these guys will not next thing you will be either have a loss of more money and then paying towards your bankruptcy. I have discovered this luckily just in time that’s because I’m impatient and had a letter come through after me contacting them to let them know they will get a letter. (They never received)”

“I was very apprehensive about explaining a large debt that I have. In David Tunnock, Glasgow, you have an excellent employee. He put me at ease with his cheery, yet efficient attitude. It is so important to talk to someone, who not only knows his work, but can deal with you as a real person. In a very short time, he emailed the document I needed.
