“Sizing has changed meaning I had to return and send back and button came off pocket on first wear and then again after being sent back to be repaired. Quality might be compromised now the coat is made in China. Hope not!”

“I was very disappointed to discover that Schoffel's knitware is sourced in China. Garments are not made in the UK but in asia. They charge about £100 for the Chunky cable crew jumper. Bear in mind this jumper is only 50% wool and 50% acrylic. Acrylic is carcinogenic and leaches microplastics into waterways. Ends up being consumed by marine life and eaten by humans. There's talks of banning it. You can buy a jumper, made in the UK which uses 100% British wool (and certified by British Wool which exists to protect the consumer, uphold a certain quality, grade of wool and to protect the sheep from mismanagement, physical abuse and to ensure animal welfare is met) for the same price. The same cannot be said for wool sourced from other continents and this is an unfortunate and very sad issue which upsets many legitimate farmers. I'd highly recommend buyers look elsewhere at more environmentally friendly alternatives. Imagine buying something sourced and made right here in the UK with no need to fly the wool around the world. So that would mean supporting our British businesses, using wool that is sourced from British sheep (so therefore adheres to DEFRA and no chance of mulesing occuring). Your wallet, animal welfare and the environment will thank you for it! Please do the right thing.”

“Perfect sweater for country walking. The inner liner is very comfortable and shields against the wind. The length and the way it fits over the bottom are also comfortable and look nice. I wear a US size 6 and like the way this fits. I’m 5ft. 9inches and weigh 115 lbs. I wear a shirt underneath and there will be room for more layers when it gets colder. I like the color which blends with the countryside making it a good sweater to wear bird watching. I will live in this sweater and recommend it highly.”

“I ordered a pair of the socks for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves them. They are so soft and comfortable he says. Very please with the quality. Shipping was very timely , wish it wasn’t as expensive , would wait a week longer for them to arrive if shipping costed less !”

“Purchased Barrowden quilt jacket. Arrived promptly, found size to be on small side . Usually take 42/44 but 44 was far too small. Returned and 46 arrived quickly. Much better fit. Quality seem quite good but not as good as Oakham fleece gilet. Particularly the Alcantara trim which is much nicer on the gilet. Pockets dont seem to be fleece lined and my coat only has one internal vertical zipped pocket”
