I was very pleased with the price(s). I'd hoped delivery might be slightly faster, but my order arrived in the promised time-frame so I've no grounds for complaint. I ordered 6' scaffold boards but 8' ones were delivered. I emailed to query this but never received a response. In the end I think it worked out to my benefit, but I would rather have received a reply! My order arrived in two shipments, althought the paperwork didn't mention this. I therefore queried by email (the same one as above) after the first shipment arrived, but didn't get an answer to that. In hindsight I think it was the courier splitting the shipment up, not Scaffolding Direct, but either way there's definitely room for improvement on the communication front! These matters aside, the fundamental service was good and I am likely to use Scaffolding Direct again if I need more scaffolding products.

We have experienced some impacts on the company during these unusual times; however your comments about the emails are taken on board. You are quite correct about the split delivery, this was down to the courier who can at times split consignments, which are rectified very quickly as a rule. Ordered and paid no correspondence to say they were going to be late with delivery. I emailed and was told they were waiting new stock. I then get an email from delivery company this morning to say the order was been delivered today. No prior notice. Luckily I was at home today. Lack of communication from day one

Hi Yvonne, Thank you for your review. At the time of you placing your order, both the item image and description on the website, stated that the timber was available only as a pre order for delivery in February. As soon as the timber was delivered to us we did then start processing the large backlog of pre bought timber orders, yours being one of the first. As soon as we booked this delivery in with our courier you should have received an automatic email from them advising a delivery date. Ok customer and ok delivery but amazing products - my only criticism hence 3* is that one board was split and damaged by the courier and when I complained 3 times NIL Response and as I am using these boards for out door furniture I wanted it prefect so I ended up gluing and clamping it !!!! so good products damaged by courier and no response from customer services despite 3 emails !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I apologise that you have not had a response to this email, we are still experiencing a huge influx of orders and enquiries with a limited number of staff, so it looks like this one slipped through the net on this occasion. Good service up to the delivery time. Got told between 9 and 12 and ended up getting a call at 7.15am saying they ll be here in 30 mins

Disappointed the stand I bought had upright tube much narrower than scaffolding pole. Not really what I required.

Hi Geoff, Thank you for your review. The product that you have ordered (Spigot Base Plate), is designed to provide a flat surface for your scaffold tubes and to give an even distribution of weight when used as part of a scaffolding structure. The spigot is just meant to centre the scaffold tubes, therefore does not need a larger diameter than it already has. not totally impressive, to be honest. I ordered swivel base jacks and spigot base plates. The base jacks that arrived were 'fixed' (ie non-swivel) and one of the the spigot base plates looked like someone had driven over it. I will say, though, that the problem with the base jacks was dealt with swiftly (by Kamal). I never bothered to mention the crushed spigot base plate - it wasn't worth it for the sake of 50p.

Hi Warren, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately there was a mis-pick on your order. Whilst rare, mistakes can happen in our warehouse due to human error. I ordered a raised bed kit and was surprised that there were no screws or instructions included, just planks and brackets. Two of the planks were damaged when I received them with deep gouges.

Hi Valerie, Thank you for your review. There absolutely should have been screws included with your kit. If you give us a call on 01516787997, we can get these sent out immediately for you, if they are still required. There would not usually be instructions included, as this is a fairly straight forward “Do-It-Yourself” product. The brackets just need to be screwed into the inside of the corners of your bed kit. I can see that you did order tantalised timber, of which there has been a national shortage of supply, due to the ongoing Covid situation. Hi Bill, Thank you for your review. Our website, and your order confirmation, state that orders are being despatched in 7-10 working days and to give us a call if you need it sooner. I can see that as soon as you did call us, we despatched your order, and the order was delivered the following working day. You should have received an email from us and from the courier. Please double check your junk folders, as these emails can end up in there. If you had provided a mobile number, the courier would have texted you on the day of delivery as well. Delivery time was twice that predicted on website. Delivery charge very high but the person delivering was excellent, carrying all the materials to the back garden. Materials as described but not as yet assembled.

Timber in general has been in quite short supply nationwide due to many mills closing over the Covid situation. I can see that we despatched your order 6 working days after you placed it, actually beating the time advertised on our website of 7-10 working days. Your order confirmation also stated that we would despatch the order in 7-10 working days, and to give us a call if you required it sooner than that. Hi Rhys, Thank you for your review. Apologies for the wait on your order. I can see that we did email you shortly after placing the order to advise that there would be a delay. This was due to a nationwide timber shortage, as a result of several large mills being closed over the lockdown period. The timber did arrive on the advised date, and we shipped your order within 3 working days of the timber arriving. I can see that the goods were delivered the following working day of them being despatched. Good value and first order was sent out in under a week but my first order got delivered to the wrong adress (courier was given the wrong address). The staff at scaffolding direct were quick to rectify that and I did get my delivery that day. Figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt so placed a second order placed 2 weeks ago and I have received no communication from scaffolding direct since my order confirmation. I emailed them today asking for an update but Instead received an email asking if I would write a review. I would have given them 1 star due to the mistake with the first order and with the delay to my second order. In all fairness though when I called them about the mistake in the first order the staff were very helpful and quick to find a solution.

Hi Jeff, Thank you for your review. Looking at your first order, it looks like a digit was missed on the address on the delivery label. We apologise for the mistake on this, but as you have advised we did rectify this as soon as it was brought to our attention. With regards to your second order, this will be despatched today (21/10/20) with our courier. Our website does state that due to the current COVID situation, orders are being despatched in 7-10 working days, today being the 10th day. Your order confirmation also states that if the goods are required sooner than this, then all you need to do is give us a quick call, and we can speed this up for you. I have searched through our emails, but I cannot find anything from you regarding this second order, only emails relating to the first order. Tried to order online and was told tube was in stock. Had an issue with the website and called back to clarify only to be told tube was not in stock. Drove from Manchester to depot some days later to pick up 33mm fittings as advertised on the site only to be told they were not a stock item. Bought some tube anyway. Guy that served me wasn’t rude exactly, but was pretty charmless and clearly wishing he was somewhere else.

Hi Richard, Thank you for your review. I can see that your order for the tube was collected the day the order was placed. Ordinarily, due to the current Covid situation, most collections must be booked in at least 24 hours before you collect, and a collection timeslot assigned. So we actually turned this order around a lot quicker than we usually would have. There is also no order on our system for 33mm clamps. If it was the aluminium clamps that you were after, rather than steel, then we do not usually hold these in stock. Hence why they are not available to click and collect on our website. Whilst you are able to collect from us, we do require collections to be booked in prior to arrival, as we do not have a walk-in store. Therefore, to avoid any unnecessary trips etc., we would advise giving us a call before you travel to our warehouse.
