Had a fantastic trip with salamander adventures on the Matterhorn to eiger hike ,the organisation was second to none,it was exactly as the itinerary said, our guide Luke was first class, had obviously done his homework prior to the trip, answered most questions thrown at him!,,,no complaints regarding the accommodation and the food, the views on the hikes were absolutely stunning we were fortunate with the weather so that helped, would recommend going up the jungfrau railway a wee bit expensive but well worth it if the weather is clear, would certainly recommend the Matterhorn to eiger trip worth every penny, well done salamander adventures!

Salamander Adventures - Contact was Natalie. All questions answered in a timely manner. Easy sign up with credit card. Our guide Luke met us at the airport and delivered us to our room in Zermatt for the start of our trek. The hikes were steep but manageable. Luke was able to juggle the needs of the groups various skill levels with ease. The lodging in the mountains was basic, valley B&B's provided good breakfasts and adequate choice for dinners. Kanderstag Horn Blowers provided a great cultural experience. Although not included in the trip, Jungfraujoch Top of Europe excursion is highly recommended. A very enjoyable trek. The weather was cool and clear and made for some spectacular views of the Matterhorn and the Eiger.

We had a great time on the Tour Du Mont Blanc. We did a self-guided tour with Salamander. They organized all the accommodations and meals for us and everything went perfectly. When you are hiking over 100 miles over 8 days, getting the right food is so critical. We usually struggle with getting good vegetarian food on trips which include meals as part of the package, but this trip was a pleasant surprise, since we got great food at every stage of the hike. They also provided detailed directions with alternate route suggestions in case of bad weather. This came in useful on our last day, since the final pass had had snow previous night and we were advised to stay low on the alternate route. We will definitely use Salamander for our hiking trips in the future.

We had a stellar guide, all the hotels we stayed at were between adequate and wonderful, and the entire hike was a great balance between challenging and being indulgent.

We booked our TMB trip with Salamander after researching several tour companies online, and are convinced we made the right choice. We toured in July 2016, with Simon as our guide and 12 other people in our group. Simon was an outstanding, personable, skilled and knowledgeable guide, a real pleasure to hike with. The lodging was sometimes rustic, but always clean and pleasant. The hiking was fantastic, the scenery amazing, and the picnic lunches were wonderful. The trip exceeded all our expectations. We highly recommend Salamander, and especially Simon. Best Trip Ever! Rob & Joan (USA)

Salamander Adventures was well organised and provided and excellent trekking experience for my Tour du Mont Blanc. I found the y could not have been more helpful with booking and making sure that this was the right trip for me. The transfer arrangements from and to the airport were very smooth. The accommodation was as advertised throughout. We were comfortable and well fed at every place we stayed. Special diets can be more of an issue with the hotels but they tried hard to be accommodating. The picnics provided during the day were delicious and fresh and very satisfying. The tour leader was fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable about the local area and about mountain leadership, thoughtful and careful to ensure everyone in the group was safe and included. I was the only one in our group who travelled alone and always felt welcomed. We never felt rushed on the walks and had some time to rest during the day. The pace seemed about right for everyone in the group and no-on was either pacing out ahead or straggling a long way behind. All in all an excellent experience. Well done Salamander! and Thank you for a great trip.

The trek was well organised and run - the accommodation was of the standard we expected, very clean and comfortable. The meals (except for one) were excellent, fresh and plentiful. The guide was terrific - he ensured everyone was okay and he allowed for all the different fitness levels and pace of the group. He made sure the group mixed and had fun. He was very tolerant of our sometimes slow pace. Overall a very enjoyable adventure - I would suggest anyone considering doing the TMB to talk to Salamander Adventures.

We are a group of 8 travellers from Singapore first time trekking in Europe and we are glad we used Salamander Adventures. Phil was able to make special arrangements for us based on our available dates as well as pickup and drop-off arrangements. I find Phil to be very accommodating and prompt in answering my queries. Everything happened as planned right down to the last detail. So it is with full confidence that I recommend Phil and his team to you. There is no guess work and you can trust that everything will be as planned when you book your trip with Salamander Adventures.

My husband, adult son and I did the self-guided TMB Tour through Salamander in August. We had a wonderful trip and it was truly a bucket list experience. We stayed in a variety of accommodations arranged by Salamander, but loved them all even the least fancy as it was all part of the experience. The only room for improvement on the self-guided tour was that there a few places in the instructions that should be clarified. We once came very close to getting seriously lost and a quick addition to the instructions would help others avoid this in the future. We were also fortunate in that we were staying the same hotels as a Salamander guided tour and on several occasions asked the guide for advice. Overall, we felt that this tour was an excellent value for the money and would recommend Salamander to others.

My wife and I did the self-guided Tour de Mont Blanc trip. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the organisation by Salamander was very good. It suited us since we only had a limited amount of time, we didn't want to have to carry all of our luggage all of the time and we wanted to mainly stay in small hotels rather than mountain huts. Look carefully at what the corresponding guided tour includes to decide if it is for you. We didn't fancy doing the long walk down the valley from Grand Col Ferret to La Palud, so continued on the TMB path via the Refugio Bonatti Hut, making a very long day. Similarly we didn't want to do the bus ride up the valley up to Val Veny, so caught the gondola from Coumayeur and followed the TMB from there, making another very long day. If you have time, a 10 or 11 day option might be a more relaxed way of doing it, but you would need to have some stays in mountain huts. The accommodation that Salamander booked was fine and they were very helpful in the booking process. Their accompanying notes were also very useful. It was nice to meet up with the members of the guided group in the evenings without feeling constrained by set times and routes during the day.

Easy to book. Staff always helpful and informative. Information that came as part of the holiday package was useful, and well written. The standard of holiday accommodation was very high, and all were extremely clean, and the food was delicious. We would recommend this company, and look forward to our next booking with them!

I had the opportunity to trek Mont Blanc with Salamander Adventures in August 2016. I was very satisfied with their service right from the beginning, Natalie was very prompt in answering any questions. The food and the hotels were excellent - much better than I expected. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the showers were hot. We ate culinary delights from all of the regions we travelled through. Furthermore, the guide for our trip was outstanding. Luke really knows his stuff, he knows the area and takes pride in sharing it with the group. He prepared for us for each day , so we always knew what to expect. Luke motivated each of us and knew how to play to our strengths - we were a team. I highly recommend Salamander Adventures! Peggy Kelly Ottawa Canada

The TMB is a wonderful adventure and a pretty tough trek but we really enjoyed it. Our IML was Peter and he was great! He got us up and down the mountain every day and packed a great picnic for us all which we enjoyed in the sunshine surrounded by the most amazing views of the mountains. We would highly recommend Salamander to anyone who is considering this trek. Its challenging but very doable so go for it!!

I participated in one of the July 2016 classic Tour De Mt Blanc treks. It was FANTASTIC. Our guide, Simon, was knowledgeable and sparky. The accommodations were great throughout, and even though I ate everything in sight, I came back thinner than when I left! For the price point, I do not think this trip can be beat. I look forward to booking another trip with Salamander Adventures.

Our trip in July 2016 was excellent. The guides, Luke Emms and his wife had everything, food, accommodations and luggage logistics, well planned and it couldn’t have gone better. We had a really nice group to hike with. The scenery was phenomenal hiking through the high alpine terrain. One highlight on our day off was the gondola rides from Courmayeur Italy to the Aiguille du Midi, overlooking Chamonix, and back. This brought home the majesty of Mount Blanc and the grandeur of the hike around it. I would highly recommend Salamander Adventures.

I was on the August 17th Tour du Mont Blanc and it was absolutely great and thoroughly enjoyable in all aspects from start to finish. The transport from the airport was waiting for us on our arrival and our guide Susie Annam was waiting to greet us at the first hotel. The accommodation was good and the food plentiful in all the different levels of hotels and in the auberge that we staying in were excellent, a couple of the breakfasts were like feasts. The staff in the accommodation were all helpful. The organisation of the days had been well thought out, with morning stops at Refuges allowing for water bottles to be refilled, a timely break in the walk to savour for longer the wonderful, beautiful stunning scenery and also to have the a morning treat for those who wished to indulge. Susie our guide worked very hard in obtaining the provisions for our daily delicious picnic and fresh bread and providing the necessary practical equipment for the setting up of the picnics. Susie was knowledgeable about the routes and local areas we were in together with the flora and fauna, each day the pace that was set was well within the groups capabilities and we were consulted regularly about what was planned for the day and what we wanted to do. Susie was friendly and always very helpful and was able to recommend places to eat on the nights when food was not included. Overall the tour was well thought out and good value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone wishing to undertake the tour of mont blanc. Thank you to everyone who made my special holiday a great pleasure and wonderful memory. Wishing you continued success.

I thought this was a very good trip with the right kind of guide who could deal with different abilities so that everyone had a a good experience. I thought the hotels were excellent and the food good. I was lucky enough to have a single room so this did help to make it perfect. It was also a great group of people. We all got on very well. I would recommend Salamander. I was surprised that some people did not have a clear idea of the type of terrain or distance, or level of exertion required for such a trip, despite your very clear information, however, everyone managed to complete the tour and to enjoy it. Thanks must go also to your guide Luke Emms who made it possible for more experienced people to go on ahead and wait for the slower ones to catch up. Altogether a wonderful and memorable trip.
