An email from one of your Customer Care Advisors to another colleague sent to me by mistake ending in the following "would it be possible for yourself to reach out to Joanne ASAP just because I feel as though she could be one to start raising a complaint about the process" A very non apologetic reply when i responded asking him to clarify what he meant "As you would have thought, the email below was meant for Thomas, which by mistake I sent yourself. Within a minute after I accidentally sent that, I sent an email to Thomas asking if he could reach out ASAP, if he doesn’t pick it up this morning then I will forward it onto the management of the Technical support team. I do understand your frustrations completely as I did see that your H&S policy was dated within the last 12 months, which Thomas will be able to discuss with yourself. Had the query at hand just been to do with support in general with the questionnaire/documentation, then it is more than likely that I would have been able to help you or if not, put you through to a member of our technical support team to help you through the completion. Because in this situation Thomas has already made comments and requested additional information, therefore I am unable to answer on his behalf and wouldn’t want to lead you down the wrong path at all, which is why I have contacted Thomas to reach out to yourself. As regard to the line about the possibility of you complaining, I mentioned this as it tends to usually get the ball rolling a bit quicker if that word is used, and of course we wouldn’t want to cause yourself to raise a complaint as it would mean you have had a bad experience, so I am just trying to turn that around for yourself. Your understanding would be much appreciated, and like I said, I will raise this further if Thomas does not contact me this morning" Not impressed with being spoken to like this

Hi Joanne, One of our team leaders will be reaching out to discuss your experience and discuss remedial steps ASAP. Please accept my sincere apologies for the service you've received. This is inexcusable behaviour as our customers queries and feedback deserve to be heard and resolved without prejudice. Your initial query was handled by one of our Customer Care Apprentices. While they receive the same training as any fully fledged member of our team it appears to be that inexperience has shown in this instance and further support is required as this falls far below the standards we would expect. We will be in touch in due course. With apologies, Tom Parry Customer Care Manager

We are delighted to share our positive experience with the SafeContractor accreditation process. Achieving this accreditation for the second consecutive year has been incredibly beneficial for our business. The process itself was thorough and well-structured, ensuring that our health and safety practices meet the highest standards. The accreditation has not only enhanced our internal safety protocols but also strengthened our credibility with clients, providing us with a competitive edge in the market. It has streamlined our operations by reducing incidents and improving efficiency. Overall, the SafeContractor accreditation has been a valuable asset, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in health and safety.

It was the worst accreditation process we have ever had due to response times. Unfortunately, they are forcing their customers to pay extra for being audited quickly by auditing the company in two months without any feedback.

Hi Chamberlaine Cleaning Services Ltd, Thank you for your feedback. We truly value the insights we receive from our customers, and in response to your feedback, we've made an improvement. Previously, you could submit the renewal questionnaire 30 days before your expiry date. Now, we've extended that window to 60 days before expiry, giving you an additional 30 days to complete the submission. Although our package response times remain the same, this will hopefully allow extra time for the audit to take place ensuring a smoother process for coming years. We hope this change makes a positive difference as you prepare for next year! Best regards, SafeContractor

We submiited our submission on the 3rd April and following a phone call on the 14th May - it then got reviewed by an auditor. We are extremely disppointed with the turn around time - please note we did NOT need to provide any further information. Other SSIP accreditations can turn things around in just a few days and we now recommed them due to your protracted audit review timings! All you want is extra money through 'Express' upselling!!

It was more difficult then previous as the company had changed its trading name. But SafeContractor were very understanding and allowed me to complete new paperwork to cover these changes.

The whole process from start to finish was made seamless with the help of the great staff. Elizabeth Champion was so helpful during the accreditation before it was sent to the auditors. I then dealt with Rachel Jones who was first class in assisting with what was required. Excellent service

We find the whole process very cumbersome where relevant documentation is uploaded and it gets rejected with minimal reason why. Something such as Policy dates should not hold up the process when the company policy is not to update every 12 months - this is not legally binding. The whole process is very transactional and could do with a more personal approach.

The first person I had wasn't very useful and didn't give very comprehensive feedback. Things were getting rejected and the rejection feedback wasn't relevant, and it got accepted the second time around if I just got it resigned and redated, despite being within a year. I went on holiday and left it for a month or so, and a different person came back with feedback, which was different, but the second person was really useful and helpful, and provided guidence and support.

The experience was excellent from start to finish. Tom who helped us with the pre-assessments was excellent, as was Sophie who done our final audit. The support throughout was first class and it was a pleasure working with the SafeContractor team.

We were disappointed with the service from SafeContractor this year. We pay for a standard service and as usual submitted our H&S documentation on the first day we were able to do so. SafeContractor are supposed to be in touch within 20 working days. The audit team failed to make contact within this time and our SafeContractor accreditation expired. Our SafeContractor membership has different dates to the accreditation and expires after the accreditation expiry date, but SafeContractor regularly sent emails chasing payment throughout the time they should have been conducting the audit! Unfortunately this gives the impression that SafeContractor are more interested in taking contractors' money rather than providing the service they are charging for. The audit was eventually completed after our Director had an angry phone call with SafeContractor. We've been using SafeContractor for years and this should not be necessary. They tried to make the excuse that we had only paid for the standard service - But if their standard service isn't fit for purpose (i.e. accreditation expires before audit is done) why do they offer this? Or is the service slow to encourage contractors to pay more for faster service?? Apart from the poor, slow service, the SafeContractor system is user friendly and the process of submitting documentation etc. is straightforward.

Awful experience. Submit documents in before the deadline to then find out it takes over 1 month (30 working days!) for it only to reach a pre-audit assessment. Causing us to go out of accreditation. There is a major push to pay extra for a quicker response which is wrong - if you pay for the accreditation you should have a service. I have had no option but to speed things up by going down the deem to satisfy route which to me completley goes against the whole point of having accreditation with yourselves.

A seemless experience renewing our accreditation with SafeContractor. Questions raised with the Safe Contractor personnel were answered quickly and were very helpful in their guidance too. The Site is easy to navigate around. Our accreditation status was awarded within days of submitting our renewal. Would highly reccommend.

Found the entire porcess to be tedious and repetative. We have SSIP with CHAS and Constructionline, and fail to see how we benefit from a third accrediation that asks the same questions. Would love to know how it benefits the principle contractor to pressure small to medium businesses, in order to, get on their supplier list.
