Always very slow to actually accredited the qualification to the point our ceritification expires before we are recertified. My emails were also ignored and I ended up having to seek a contact out via linkedin to resolve.

Take way too long if there are any queries, and then when they do ask for more answers once you have sent them off they come back with some different ones! Taken nearly 3 months this year!!

Aggressive high pressure sales and renewal tactics made this a very unpleasant experience, core service is fine, customer management, onboarding and relationship management is terrible

Painful as we get queried on the same points every year even though nothing has changed on those points in 10 years. Extremely expensive for the lack of benefit in return.

Took way too long to audit and get a cettificate back to me and only happend because I have to complain. Once complained it all got sorted very quickley though. Feel some of the staff are of the 'Computer says no' atttitude.

The accreditation process always takes much longer than it should and we have a long period without being accredited that can cause issues with clients. I submitted everything for review once I was allowed to but didn't get the certificate back until almost two weeks after I expected it. The staff are always incredible friendly and helpful and answer the phone quickly but I think there is just a back log with auditors. I know you can pay for a faster audit process but everything was submitted in time so I shouldn't have to pay for this service.

One of the worst experiences i've had renewing our membership with SafeContractor based purely on the time it took to get audited and reaccredited. It takes far too long to get your account audited, unless you agree to pay several hundred pounds more on top of the thousands we already pay to get it checked quicker, which I highly disagree with. We were asked for a few bits of further information our file was finally checked, and on submittal was told we would have a response within 5 working days. 2 1/2 working weeks later we still hadn't received a response, and i had to chase up the pre-auditor for answers. Unless you pay the additional fee to get your file checked within 10 working days (instead of the standard 20) it is impossible to get your Safe Contractor certificate renewed before your current certificate expires.

Generally very happy with all things safe contractor BUT.... my big issue is with the time it takes from submission to accreditation. We could pay to fast-track but categorically refuse to do so as I feel the membership cost should cover it to be undertaken within the time frame set.

Despite submitting our documents for approval well ahead of the annual expiry date, Safecontrator did not begin processing the renewal until the expiry date. Minor queries were raised by Safecontractor and answers were swiftly provided, however, Safecontractor failed to complete the assessment in a reasonable time. It took a month and a half for Safecontractor to assess our documents and this was only done after a complaint was raised. Overall it's very poor and not in any way customer-focused.

Your questionnaire is open all year round for you to fill in and upload documents, it becomes available to submit 30 days prior to the expiry date of your current certificate, this is to enable you to get ahead and usually allows us enough time to review your file before the current certificate expires. Massively over-priced for what is essentially a paper pushing exercise. No meaningful assessment of health and safety in a real environment. I definitely wouldn’t recommend spending money on this, it’s laughable.

The process needs to be quicker ! All you should be doing for established contractors who have been with Safe Contractor for many years is ask for all renewals, ie. Insurance, certificates if out of date, etc. this would save so much time. I and others in the trade feel that you are just trying to justify your ever-increasing price. Some of my colleagues have left Safe Contractor and have said no one ever asks for it so what is the point? We work for many blue chip large companies including Rolls Royce, Health Authorities, etc., and have only been asked once for the qualification.

i have had to contact your company on many occasions to find out what the issues are with the submission , i would expect that a follow email or alert would be sent to us if there is an issue with the submission and a description of the issue and its solution. i look forward to your response kind regards Alphatec

I am sorry to hear that in this instance you felt our service fell short of your expectations. At SafeContractor we do operate a queue system owing to the volume of accounts we have to process. We do offer a variety of packages dependant on the needs of our contractors. As your business is on the standard package the lead time for accreditation can apply, in regards to your application we do contact via telephone and email within the timeframe and i can see that contact was made from both ends and then resolved. I found the whole accreditation prosses very slow and money lead. The only way to stay accredited would be to pay to speed up the audit prosses which I feel is very unfair and something we are not willing to do. If it was not for the fact we are required by our contractors to be safe contractor accredited, we would use an alternative.

To counter this, we do offer a variety of packages dependant on the needs of our contractors. For example, those who are happy to wait don't need to upgrade, but for businesses where there is urgency the express package is more appropriate. As your business is on the standard package these lead times for accreditation can apply. In order to avoid delays, You can complete your questionnaire all year round and then submit 30 days before expiry. I will certainly pass this feedback on. Frustrating - my certificates expired 31st January, 2023. I submitted the renewal as soon as it was released to me on the 2nd January 2023 - and then had to chase it as it wasn't being assessed. The comment I received was that it takes 20 working days, if this is the case I believe you should be releasing the renewals 6 weeks prior to the recertification date. It feels as though you are forcing businesses to pay additional fees for the express service. For smaller SME's this is not always an affordable option.

Submitting your documents 30 days prior to your certificate expiry date usually gives us enough time to review your documentation before your current certificate expires, I will however pass your comments regarding opening up the questionnaire 6 weeks earlier to the relevant management team. We aim to get to all files as soon as we can and within the 20 working day service level stipulated on the standard package, the response time you receive does depend upon the volume of work in our queue and the response time you select based upon the package you choose.
